Yeah I’m wondering/thinking about this moving forward

I don’t think people believed the Senate could/would actually flip. Let’s see what happens there. If it does, Biden will have little choice but to enact all of his plans. There is nothing stopping him. If it doesn’t, we’ve got a high likelihood of gridlock for 2 years at which point we’ll do it again.

The last two presidents had 2 years of full party control and they didn't get all their plans enacted.

Even if the Senate flips, the plans enacted will be way watered down from campaign rhetoric they always have been. They always will be.

there will be hidden taxes like obama. obamas taxes were not supposed to affect us either but they did. While trumps helped us.

anyone thinking or believing all the BS spewed by left wing trash about economics is a drooling simpleton and did not pay attention during clinton or obama years. trump kept his word on tax and reg cuts. You think beijing biden will? he will have record regs again like his buddy obama. job killers.

Regardless, retirement plans - 401k,IRA,etc - are large buckets of tax dollars waiting for the moment of withdrawal. That is when the government gets paid.

If a government wants money, its a prime target but simply changing the rules.

With that in mind, be balanced. Don’t be overweighted in qualified retirements plans. Save after tax dollars. You lose some tax benefits but gain a bit of freedom on those savings.

Don’t put your eggs in one basket.

Yes. And I’m the only one working. That fricking baffoon Obama increased health benefits for my family to the tune of 1400 a month for less coverage.

Basically a massive tax on my family. There are more ways to take peoples money than explicitly calling it a tax. But surely you already know this.

AdmittedlyI need to read up more on this.

One question off the top of my head, if I max out 401k in January and the rules change mid year, that would effect me, correct?

I guess I am asking if given everything that is going on, should I potentially rethink maxing out in January?
