I'm invested with Morgan Stanley so I use their high yield savings account.

I keep some cash in robinhood with gold membership. I'm getting a promotional rate of 4.5% for like another year i believe, but it's 4% standard. I like the speed at which i can push that cash into other assets. I keep a good amount parked in spyd which yields about 4.4%

Can anybody explain the number of downvotes on my post? Genuinely asking what I’m missing.
My buddy who is a banker called and asked me if he could match my savings account because they’re trying to up their deposits. I’m getting 4.1% and it’s a local bank where I can call an actual local person
This board is backwards, and the people posting here are dimwits and spreading disinformation. Most aren't even from Louisiana. Downvotes usually mean that you are right about something. I got lots of downvotes on my last post also, and can actually prove the points that I try and make. Consider buying gold/silver.That will continue to go up in value, regardless of the economy. Again, look at the value of a Franklin half dollar that was last minted in the early 1960's. Back in the early 1960's they were only worth 50¢. Today they are worth $16.42. LINK They are only worth this because of there silver content. Back then, coins were 90% silver. That means that they have increased in value 32 times over. You won't get this from a savings account at any bank.

Why would you go through all that trouble for a “matching” rate?

I had the red arse at Citi, you literally cannot get a person on the phone unless you tell the prompt there’s fraudulent charges on your card, and my buddy set everything up for me with a copy of my drivers license. It took about 5 minutes, and he’s my friend so I did him a solid that took me no effort

Citi has good rates, but they’re a disaster customer service wise. Would not recommend.
Truer words have never been spoken.
If you live near a branch, it might be OK. But if you don't, DO NOT USE CITIBANK.
