Hotels, flights, etc.
I’d like to use it for daily expenses and rack up some points, pay it off every month, rinse and repeat.

What’s the best card for this?

Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Reserve. Accumulate points on the no annual free Freedom then transfer to Sapphire rewards account to use for travel. Use Sapphire to pay for travel category expenses because you get more points than Freedom for those. The Sapphire does have a hefty fee but you get a $300 annual travel credit, Global Entry fee covered, Priority Pass Lounge access, etc.

I've been doing this awhile so if there are better options, I would love to hear them.

I just want to say, frick Chase Travel customer service. I booked a trip to Greece though them, one of the flights was cancelled, and they rebooked me with a 5 minute layover in Munich. I couldn’t understand anything the outsourced labor was saying on the phone because the chickens in her back yard were being too loud. Their only option was to charge me an additional 700 per ticket to get it right, even though I have her additional flight numbers I found on her own.

I ended up cancelling the flight, getting the points refunded, booked the flight myself, then used the points for a credit statement. Went back to AMEX Platinum the next day.

Been discussed many times. Usual answers are Chase Sapphire, Venture and Venture X. Also a few people say Delta or AMEX Platinum.

I think it really depends on how much you travel and how loyal you are to any particular airline or hotel and everyones situation/habits are different.

Venture works for me (I have a few airlines I fly with and not loyal to hotels at all) it pays for my pre-check and global entry. I’d probably move to Venture X if I travelled a little more.

Chase Travel customer service

Pretty sure that is now run by Expedia and nobody likes it. I rarely book through the travel portal. I transfer the points to their travel partners and book direct.

Capital One Venture works just fine for me. 2x point on all purchases. Annual fee only $95.

Like the previous poster mentioned, if you are not loyal to any airline it’s tough to beat

There's no way anyone could say the Delta AmExs are the best travel card.

The AmEx Gold/Platinum combo is a great look. Throw in a Hilton Aspire/Surpass and most needs are hit.

Amex Platinum hands down for me. Tons of travel-related perks like TSA precheck, CLEAR, and more airport lounge access than any other card.
