My biggest concern with Ally is lack of physical branches. I have a checking with USAA, but keep one with Capital one as well just to have a branch I can go to when I need to make cash deposits or do anything else in person. Granted, besides cash deposits, there's nothing about an online bank that has been a hindrance to me. And I do know Ally has good reviews

Some things to consider:
- Compare their fees for various things - overdraft, minimum balance fees, fees for ordering checks, etc.
- Do they both reimburse ATM fees?
- Do you have any Chase credit cards? This might sway you simply because it'll be easier to view all your accounts on one page.
- Checking accounts generally don't have good interest rates, if any at all, but worth checking
- Do either have a promo going on for opening a new account? I got $300 for opening my USAA acct at the time
- User friendliness of their websites? - I'm sure both are great, but something to think about
- Is there any benefit to bundling multiple things with the same bank? For example, I get bundling discounts with USAA for having auto insurance, checking acct and other things with them

I see you've answered two of my considerations... those would swing pretty heavy towards Chase for me

Chase. I'm pretty sure they have an offer out now that they'll give you $500 for opening a checking account.

If you already have accounts at Cap One, why not there? I have free checking there that earns a little interest too. It’s easy to move money between checking and 360 savings and money market accounts. And you can see the balances in all those accounts and your credit card in one spot.

If I switched, it would have to be a place with ample ATMs in my area. I refuse to pay ATM fees to get cash from another bank’s machine unless I’m out of the country or something.
