Attn Capitalism Experts: Estimated Taxes Due Today

For all of you masters of capitalism who own your own business, don't forget to make your 3rd quarter estimated tax payments today.
And remember... if EVERYONE was required to pay their taxes with 4 checks a year, there would be blood in the streets =)

These are painful days for the self-employed or small business person. And it is sometimes a crap shoot as to how close you are on projections making it all the worse. It's always OK to send in too much but penalties if you guess too low. I hate the US Tax system.

Also, the pay as you go / withholding system.
People have no idea how much they pay in taxes.
They only know
1) What their take-home check is
2) What their "refund" is

I am up in this thread to support it.
I hate these estimates and the tyranny behind them. I save plenty of money within my business and the gubment should not have part of my savings to hold all year to make sure I pay them first.
They will never go away though.

That's why there's a safe harbor.
You should see how fair Maryland is about estimates..
