Just FYI in case anyone here dabbles with dividend plays in your stock portfolio.
ETA: Also estimated Federal and Louisiana income taxes are due a week from this Monday on 1/15/18.

If you like dividends, check out Electra (ECA) with a 50% stake. I know you are big into crypto.

Eta: ECA is not Electra. It's Encana Corp.

Why do you think AT&T has such a high dividend?

I would guess from arse raping me for years and paying Boobla Boobla in Uzbekistan to handle their customer service.

I'm a bit confused about the purpose of this thread

I'm a bit confused about the purpose of this thread
A few people on this board have traded info on dividend plays over the years. AT&T, with its safe 5%+ annual dividend, has long been considered a decent stock to participate in a dividend play strategy.
So, I reminded anyone interested that T goes ex-div on Tuesday. That's all.

Oh, ok. Don't want to give you a hard time because I like you but I'm not sure this warranted a thread. Also the part about est taxes being due just had me confused.
To add to your discussion, I love telecom and electric utilities for dividends and bonds. The public pays these back with incredible regularity

AT&T paid the same $.49 dividend last year on 2/1, 5/1, 8/1 and 11/1
BAC started year @ .075 and INCREASE to @ .12 dividend
Regions started last year @ .065 and INCREASE to .09 dividend.
Southwest Airlines started last year @ .10 and INCREASE to .125

Thanks for the information.
T usually raises its quarterly dividend in the first dividend payment of each year and has done so for 2018 just like it did in the previous 11 consecutive years.
The declared dividend which goes ex-div Tuesday is $.50/share which makes it a suitable candidate for a quick dividend trade next week.

I'll have to look back at prior years.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Then go ahead and take a look at their most recent acquisition.
