Anyone else took it up the azz today?

Today was brutal. Watching some of my reliable stocks like ORCL get buttfricked. Then I thought I would be clever and try to time the steel and aluminum play, thinking surely Trump and Japan are gonna settle on something amazing for X, CLF, AA etc. Yeah right, I might as well have just gone to the casino today.

How would I take it up the azz if I’m not selling for 20+ years? I don’t invest day to day, I invest for years. One bad day shouldn’t phase you.

What the frick happened today, been out of the loop?

quote:United Health, a Dow Jones 30 stock, got notice that Feds are going to look at them for Medicare/Medicaid fraud so they were down almost 50 points in the first 10 minutes of trading. For a DJ30 stock that kind of drop for one of its stocks means an index decline of almost 450 points all by itself.
What the frick happened today,
Things went downhill from there mainly for tech stocks and financials.

Some data out about consumer confidence dropping plus, NVDA reports on the 26TH. Last couple of earnings and the stock dropped.

The DJIA being price weighted is so dumb.

Ugly in my portfolio save for MELI

I was yes/no 40/60 load up on MELI a few days ago but last ER it sipped and I held for awhile just to break even.
Curious when will this stock ever split

All times highs early this week. Today took some back. I caught UNH @ $438 after they dropped it from $500

Yeah, down around 5% overall. Ouch. But, my shares of UVIX were up 14%, so there's that. Just only 10% of the portfolio. Had bought that as a hedge if the market tanks. Very volatile.

Anything home related as far as home builders/home building materials has been getting slammed for pretty much the last month.

S&P dropping 104pts in a day. It can go from up 4%ytd to in the red in no time.

4% inflation print in Japan, JGB 10 blew out to 1.4%, usd/jpy back under 150, carry traders got pinched and started to unwind positions, very similar to Aug 3. Watch the Asian open Sunday night for confirmation.
