EY US employees payroll reversed

EY does SOC audits for ADP. Looks like some auditors failed at their job.

Also doesn’t look like EY is dumping ADP over this. Bad look for a company with a black eye over ethics to now have this happen. The new chair is off to a rocky first month.

Auditors were too busy passing answers to the cpa exam ethics portion to check those controls.

From friends at the firm, looks like problem was noticed 7:00 AM EST and EY didn’t make a statement until 8:52 AM EST.

That’s insane that it took almost two hours to address employees having pay checks yanked back from a vendor error. Article said as early as 5:00 Am but I’m guessing that was Mountain time based off friends.

ADP should get a ton of shite and fired over it as well.

ADP is a deeply shitty payroll processor. They frick everything up, and they're expensive on top of it. I think they're one of the biggest, if not the biggest processors, and I have absolutely no idea how that's possible.

I did a interim job that ended in June. Last week I got a payroll deposit. Alerted the company and they are fixing it. They thanked me for telling them, but they have a big processing issue to figure out.

I’ve heard ADP is a laughing stock in their credits and incentives ventures. It’s the one place that I’ve had others openly shred in front of clients.

Adp has done my payroll for over 20 years. Never been an issue.

It sounds like they are having some issues, though.

Any link to something that isn't behind a paywall? I'm interested in learning more, but all my discretionary $$ is tied up in poverty. Thanks

Not only was my paycheck reversed, but this has to result in an impact on the SOC report issued as well. Which will then cause our audits teams to do additional testing around payroll. FML.

As it should? It’s the purpose of the audit and the IT attestation practices existence…

Yea it definitely should. It just means my testing population goes from 25 to 50+ once I re-perform my risk assessment based off a now expected qualified opinion. Pain in the butt to test payroll too.
