remember in 2017's bull run Wiki came back and had a AMA thread.

Wiki ama

ETA: Just noticed he deleted his comments when the bear market came. I recall his other prophecies in that ama (besides Bitcoin) never panned out.

Yeah he deleted his entire TD history not long after the COVID crash.

I don't know if he's rich or if he got wrecked.

Will never forget reading Wiki's posts in my dorm as a freshman at LSU and calling my roommate over to read about it. We both wanted to buy and loved the concept, but back then it was exceptionally hard to purchase (no Coinbase or anything to just jump on and grab some), plus we were freshmen with no money

It was $8 at the time. 8 fricking dollars

Similar boat here. Senior year of college, living in a dumpy old bachelor pad. My name wasn't even on the lease but they had a spare mattress and enough room for my PC.

I don't remember how much it cost then (this was 2011) but I remember reading up on it, being very intrigued, and thinking hard for like two hours about dropping my last $100 into it before deciding against it because I was absolutely broke as hell and that money needed to last me a week or two. Plus this was back when I spent time on some shady sites and I'm pretty sure I chickened out thinking the whole thing was a psyop or something.

Sucks to have missed the boat but at that age I wouldn't have had the discipline anyway.

Yeah I probably would have sold after it 5x'ed. Or, I would have lost the private keys or been hacked. I would have spent the rest of my life wondering "what if".

I bought a bunch of MSFT stock back then instead of BTC, which was probably for the best.

That’s the point I was making earlier in this thread - his process wasn’t repeatable but he lucked into one of the greatest trades of all time and that’s all that matters.

NGL, years and years ago i trusted a lot of what Russian had to say. he was a wise person, and one of the reasons i also did not go hard at BTC.

Yeah, Russian is pretty much the reason I didn’t buy it back then. I don’t blame him because I made a lot more money than I would have with BTC, and I avoided the psychological trauma of having sold BTC too early or having lost my private keys, or having my funds stolen from a hacked exchange.

Russian’s a good poster, but I’m sure he regrets a few things.

Yep. I wanted to throw $1k at it, but it was daunting. It was around $200 then. I was reading the threads on here with Wiki and the naysayers. I finally dove in and bought 3 BTC for $10k in 2017. I only have 1 left after the Voyager fiasco cost me 2 BTC. I've wanted to sell a few times, even now, but I figure frick it. I'll keep it until it hits something really big. $100k is right around the corner but I want $1mm. I may settle for $250k
