Is PayPal or Venmo the best way to pay someone for tickets?

That is, do you have buyer protection?
I do not think you have protection using Zelle or cash app.

You can with Venmo with protection, but seller won't get funds right away until released.

I could be wrong, but I think the only way you get protection on PayPal is to do goods and services. Don’t choose friends and family.

You need phone number verification on Venmo.
Zelle has accounts made by email or phone that can be somewhat verified.
CashApp is the worst. There's no way to truly verify who is behind the app. All they have to give is an account name without any email/phone verification on your end.

I would suggest only doing Venmo if you can. Most people now use it. You can at least check another person's Venmo to verify payment history between them and other users. Viewing their friend count would help determine if they're real or not. People suck.
I just know the only time I've been attempted to be scammed was when the other end required PayPal or CashApp.

Scammers on this site use Venmo. Every scammer I've seen I've seen in fact. The risk seemingly falls on the buyer.
Honestly best to deal in person either way with cash or any of these payment methods.
Outside of football parking passes, most everything is digital. Your best deals are generally found on Seatgeek now if you are patient enough all the way up to gametime.

You’re right but the bank will know the persons real name that you sent money to. So most of your scammers don’t use Zelle

I have someone wanting to use either Zelle or Apple Pay for some tickets. I don’t use either of them, but my wife does. Are either of these safe ways to transfer funds? The seller would then transfer tickets through lsutix

I have sold tickets a few times on here before and typically this is how it goes for digital tickets.
We email back and forth for price and then we hop on the phone and all while all the phone Buyer sends money to my Venmo (that is me in a LSU shirt) and then I instantly transfer the tickets over.
Obviously, I can just hang up and keep the money but then any reputation on here is ruined. I would avoid buying tickets from new accounts with little to no posting...

I’ve had several replies through my email address, but no one actually posted to the thread so I really don’t know whether the people selling are legit or not. Do you have any suggestions?

It has been a while since I’ve had tickets transferred to me electronically through the lsutix website. I logged into my account and saw a button for “transfer tickets” but it looks like that is more for the seller. It doesn’t really tell me how to receive them or what the process is. Do you know how that works and what information I would have to provide the seller in order to have the tickets transferred to me?

Once the tickets are transferred you will get a link from LSU to claim them if they are from a ticket account.
