Zach Lee and LSU Baseball arm injuries

this has probably been mentioned on here before, but what impact do all of these injuries have on Lee's decision.
From our perspective it means that we need him more than ever for our baseball program. Also, from his perspective it means that he will be able to step in as a lock for a weekend starter and maybe/probably even the ace of the rotation for an elite program. That's a positive.
Now the negative. Could all of these arm injuries be a selling point by the Dodgers and scare him away from LSU? Get his money now before be blows out his arm? What is the perception of our injuries among the baseball insiders? Normal or abnormal?

The Dodgers haven't even made an offer yet and it's 4 days to go. I doubt they ever get to the 'scare him away from LSU' point.
Zach has to assume he was weekend starter from the beginning.
I say the 3 TJs have 0 impact on his decision.

The only time the Didgers have talked to him was to call to say they drafted him.

I don't think they impact his decision, but if the Dodgers do negotiate with him, they will bring up whatever they can negative about LSU. Which, at this point, would hurt them because he is in love with LSU.
I brought up the injury question myself awhile back. Not being a huge baseball guy, I questioned why every time I read about LSU pitching, someone was out with arm trouble. I was told we are about normal in the injury catagory compared with other colleges. I still do not believe that one bit.

me neither. At least not the attrition combined with injuries when looking at other top 6-8 programs. But, i might be wrong.

Come on now.. You know that they will call on the last day with a offer.. Always do.. Not saying he will take it though

Rittiner

Rittner. It was reported on here a while ago, but I thought it was bs. Apparently not now. Those injuries concern me, but I don't recall any of these the previous seasons. Perhaps it was due to something that occured before they arrived at LSU, in regards to Rittner and Bourgeois.

right. he might not take it anyway, but i would not read too much into the reported lack of talks to this point.

It's more of a "freak" thing than it is over use..........our pitchers aren't doing anymore throwing than any other College team w/ restrictions on schollies.
One problem LSU is having on top of this....is guys thinking they should be pitching MORE and yet they aren't producing at a level PM likes.
Is it that they just aren't as good as we expected? Not developing when they get here? What.......

good question... I'm more concerned with the 2 guys that are transferring out than with the 3 guys that are having TJ surgery.
I hope it's due to some inside info about who is not signing MLB contracts like Lee and Gausman, et al.

It isn't a freak thing. There is a very distinct reason all three blew out their elbows.

I'd be willing to bet that years of travel baseball that has kids playing 60-70 games in a 5 month period has a lot to do with the arm injuries occuring not just here, but all over the country. You're seeing more and more young players with arm injuries these days.

I disagree....or you'd have players under PM having it EVERY year.
3 in one year is just a "freak" occurence

check out Mike Marshall's videos.
Marshall observed these injuries in MLB, too.
