re: You've just got to tip your damn cap to CLM

It seems one side of this board is waiting for Miles to screw up and the other is waiting for Miles to continue to validate. Last week I brought up a parallel to the Dinardo/Saban changing of the guard and mentioned that now (current day) I'm glad that LSU lost during Dinardo's last season (which I mistakenly said was '00) because it resulted in the hiring of Saban. I was then word fricked for the '00 error and accused of wanting LSU to lose to get Miles fired.
I tried to clarify the comment but it was too late...they had run with it and continued to bash me for hours on end.
I'm a self proclaimed "negatiger" but NEVER want LSU to lose. It doesn't hurt like it used to simply because I now have kids and I'm a little older with different priorities...but it still sucks when we lose. However, the notion that we aren't all happy when LSU wins is ridiculous. Most everyone that posts on this board (I would imagine) wants LSU to win. The negativity is simply a bi-product of frustration from watching bad play and/or coaching and sometimes a combination of this and a loss.

Maybe if you could have a reasonable method of explaining how the best record in LSU history and one of the top five records in FBS football under Les shows underachieving we wouldnt think you are just dumb.
Since the only way to do that is by you using if or could have or should have, I guess you will have to remain ignorant.

Again, my point is made about self rightous people who condemn those that dont ignore Les' blunders over the years. I dont have time to go down the list for you and it wouldnt matter anyway...am I right?

Unlike the Les Haters, this team and coaching staff doesn't quit and wright off the season after adversity. Anyone with any sense of objectivity could see tremendous improvement and a "want" to compete. I guess I would rather win 9 to 6 than lose 61 to 58, because at the end of the year it's only about the w's. Would anyoneo here like to trade Miss State's record over the last 10yrs to ours? Geez people, Les has accomplished more in 10 yrs than any coach in the history of LSU! Please google the history of the AP poll and see how many times LSU finished in the top 10, top 25, had 10 or more wins, etc.. He has surrounded himself with an excellent staff, is a class individual, and isn't going anywhere!! It must be miserable to be a Les Hater, so I'll stay a sunshine pumper.

You're a wonderful fan. The team is lucky to have you.

UNLESS, you want the coach gone, right? I mean, you admit that you're "glad" we lost those games in 1999, right?
The mental gymnastics never cease to amaze me.

Let's go one better - let's fire Les and bring in the candidates:
"Just so you guys know - you better lose pretty, rather than win ugly. None of this 'whatever it takes' to win the game bull$hit. You better run it if the fans want to run it, pass it if the fans want to pass and if you go for it on 4th down, which is what the fans want, you better make it because if you don't make it, the fans didn't really want to go for it on 4th down. Although these are your calls - they're not. Don't wear a goofy hat and don't ever wear a small, Madonna headset. Because our terrible, ignorant fans will never forget that.
Fans want you to turn red in the face, scream at, spit on and strike our players - rather than coach, lead and mentor them towards becoming quality, responsible young men.
And another thing - if you win 100 games in 10 years - you're fired, because that's not good enough.
Any questions?"

I am not a Negatiger, but I think it's entirely plausible that we finish 6-6 in spite of having won the last two games. It amuses me that a lot of folks on here think that Texas A&M and Arkansas suddenly suck so badly that we will beat both of them at their stadiums.
Even losing the final four games of the season will not be a reason for me to demand the discharge of any of our coaches or players.

that's a ridiculous thing to say. Of course while it was happening I wasn't pulling for LSU to lose...but, If LSU wouldn't have lost in '99 chances are we wouldn't have won two national championships in the last 15 years.
That's like someone who's been divorced and happily remarried saying that they're still pissed off that their first marriage didn't work out. You have to zoom out and sometimes understand that in order for something good to happen something bad had to happen first...this is of course always in hindsight.
Mental gymnastics....lol.

Sorry still no QB! It doesn't seem that Cam can coach them up either.
