First said by the website edsbs.com. It's a great college football site, or was, I havent been on it in years, its a blog run by some Florida fans, but they cover all of college football. They said it first in their blog.

I think it was former SEC head coach, Bill Curry
that said: " When you play LSU in Tiger Stadium and you win the coin toss , you elect to take the crowd "

"FOUR QUARTERS OF MEAN, NASTY, TOUGH arse FOOTBALL!"
To Jackson and his teammates, those words serve as their mission statement. "That is LSU," he said. "This is a four-quarters program.
"At one point, it wasn't even about football anymore. The game was about if we could prove that we had a heart the size of our bodies."

1. "I've got a championship game to play, and I'm excited about the opportunity of my damn-strong football team to play in it." ~ Coach Les Miles
2. "The difference between a day and night game at LSU? At night you can smell the bourbon on the field." ~ Coach Mike Archer
3. "LSU plays grown man football. They'll bring the Hello Kitty out of you." ~ Desmond Howard

After the Sugar Bowl in January of 2002, an IL sportswriter wrote: "There are bars on Bourbon Street that don't stay open as long as Josh Reed."

You're half right. It was a caller on Bill King's satellite radio show.

My favorite from this year:
quote:
If Alabama's defense is a boa constrictor, slowly sucking the life out of opposing offenses, LSU's is more like a goon that throws the offense into a burlap sack and starts beating it with a stick.

"Hey guys, we are going to ignore the play the coaches just called. I want to surprise the defense. Everyone go deep!"

From Hall Of Famer Ronnie Lott that played with USC during the 1979 game that I was at:
"It's probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd," Lott said. "A lot of great players have played in that stadium, but I don't know if any team has walked into that stadium and dealt with what we went through. From the time we landed to the time we left, I don't know if a team has ever gone through that."
"Every one of us left that night saying 'that was a game,' but I still think about it that way," he said. "I haven't been in an event like that at any level of football. Out of all the games I've ever played in, I've never been in anything like that, and I am including my Super Bowls in that assessment."

I also like Gary danielson's quote during the 2007 Florida game.
Everyone says put in the faster guy or the stronger guy. I like this guy.
About Hester as he shredded tacklers right up the gut. That's lsu football!

It wasn't a specific quote, but Tiger Stadium was ranked as one of the 10 worst places in the world for a visiting team. This included some of those European and South American soccer stadiums where people get killed in riots.
