Chase Daniel and Greg McElroy are from the Dallas area. And I thought McCoy was going to Texas regardless. Looking at McCoy's rivals profile, LSU wasn't even one of his potential schools. They were Texas, GT, Kansas State, Missouri, Purdue, and A&M. McCoy probably wasn't even on LSU's radar.
you are really confusing me. are you talking about McCoy or McElroy? if McCoy, he was committed to LSU at one point

Can you define this term?

a. always having more than 2 scholarship QBs on a roster

b. always having less than a 4-year gap between starting QB and the next generation of starters

those are 2 good starting points

that never happened

it was pure rant speculation that if RP went to UT, mccoy would come here

I have no clue what we are on offense and I don't think anyone else on this board does either. But RS could run every single play called against Vandy and probably do it better than JJ.

Didn't he have 23 carries?

Colt McCoy committed to Texas before Ryan Perrilloux dropped his commitment.

RP switched on NSD, even though those "in the know" knew he was coming to LSU for months

colt was all UT, all the time publicly

well if we're not counting the shite he faces in the worst BCS conference, or his cupcakes, or his game on the road against good competition, how can we judge him?

i think we need to go pro-style, but recruiting pro-style QBs is a tough cookie, esp being in a state that rarely produces good ones

Hangriff touched on this subject after game. What is our identity? Duel threat, Pro? Much like GC's philosophy, QB recruiting has been a hodge podge, take the highest rated QB that'll sign. Maybe it's Crowton get's him a Duel pick and Miles gets a Pro.

Couldn't tell you. That eventually our sun will burn out?

I'll leave future QB speculation up to the "experts", for the time being....

In the meantime, I'm gonna sit back & watch the 2010 season. We're 2-0, and have 10 regular season games to go. Screw everything else, for the time being....

Then our head coach needs to decide an identity for the team. We need everyone on the same page. Miles needs to take control and tell Crowton what kind of offense he wants to run. He then needs to tell Chavis what kind of defense he wants to run. As baffling as that sounds to some of you Miles lovers, he actually has the authority to do that! It is within his power to stop Crowton from running the option. He can tell Frank Wilson which running back he wants in the game. These guys work for Les Miles. Regardless of whether the players are screwing up or the scheme sucks, Les Miles has the authority and the responsibility to make the necessary adjustments.

Your OC normally has a scheme he believes in and is most comfy with, not that he wouldn't know others.
I imagine you would be worse off butting heads until GC's contract is at the stage where AD is comfortable terminating it.
This philosophy is best investigated before the hire, but Jimbo leaving and available OC's at the time? I don't recall a really good choice.

That is exaclty the problem, he has been trying ot put a square peg in a round hole since he hired Crowton. It is time to fire the man, he is wasting the offensive fire power we have. I really think Miles could call plays or Billy G than Crowton at this point. LSU is not a spread option team and hasn't recruited to be one.

its not "butting heads" if you tell the OC you disagree with a play call at X moment in the game, it comes with the territory. No head coaches just rolls with every single play his OC calls.

Boom. The whole offensive scheme and staff makes no sense whatsoever.
