Not all fans the are my age or younger are ignorant about tiger footbal but there are too many that know nothing about the history of the LSU tigers.they have never heard of things like billy cannons halloween run or the earthquake game.

Well Put! and, I am aware that not all the younger people on this site are so quick to show their negative attitude toward our LSU Tigers. Both of my sons are of that age category...and they were brought up hearing about the great times and the GREAT pride of true fans! We can all agree that things are not always great with our game play, but, for some reason or other, some of the younger fans seem to RELISH the put down side of this board. Nice to hear positive things sometimes. What fun is it to have all these negative feelings, and then go to a game?? How can anyone even get pumped up and excited if all they care about is who's positve outlook they can bash? I don't get it!

You guys keep talking about the program slipping into mediocracy......and when lord saban was here we were elite......well really now.....where we elite?

Saban had a great year in 2003. He had a pitiful loss to a bad florida team, but we rebounded nicely and won the NC.....I was a happy camper. Saban also had and has the ability to lose to much less talented teams, and that is a fact. But, more importantly, in ALL THOSE ELITE YEARS of Saban, his next best year in five years was Three losses......you can spit it, say what you want, but to me, at the end of the day, wins and losses are still the most important part of the process.

Let's go a little deeper. In 2004....saban had THIRTEEN 1st and 2nd team pre-season sec players....we had THREE losses yet again....THREE. If four of your five years three losses is the best you can do...i don't buy into that as being elite. I know you guys would blow saban any day of the week if he would give you a chance.....but this is ridiculous.

Let's also look at the fact lsu has had SEVEN total top 5 finishes in the history of LSU.....Miles has THREE of them, or almost half. Saban has ONE. Miles is one of three coaches to ever win a NC at lsu, despite his innability to win a game against a top team....lol.....Miles also has a higher winning % of any coach at lsu EVER that has coached for any decent length of time. He is 4-1 in bowl games....2-0 BCS.......

Finally, might I add, LSU is currently ranked #12 in the nation with a great chance at moving back into the top 10 this week, and is in great position to win out and go to at least a BCS game, maybe even more. The record of Miles against the great urban meyer is 3-3.....the record of miles against the great nick saban will be 2-2 come november the 6th.....just amazes me this bufoon can beat those genius coaches....lsu must have so much more talent than alabama or florida to be able to do that...wow......wait...who brings in the talent again? IDIOTS>

Unfortunately I am probably older than you TigerFan128. Saban won 2 SEC Titles in 5 years. He won the West 2 years and was tied for 1st another year. He did all this while rebuilding a program, not trying to maintain a top 10 program like Les Miles is failing to do. I don't care if 2 SEC Titles in 5 years is not impressive to people on this board I will take it everyday of the week. I would rather have SEC Championships then 8-10 win seasons without SEC Championships.

so to say he left them as an elite program is compelte bs.

Ok now it's obvious you don't know shite. Saban left this program in great shape, we had depth at all positions. 2004 wasn't the greatest season no....but no one was concerned about the direction of this program back in 2004. It is a legit concern now.

Something else you fail to understand is LSU when Miles took over >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LSU when Saban took over

I'm not saying that. Saban is a better coach, gameday coach. What I'm saying is until Miles has a 7-5 season, I'm not ready to turn my back on him. Despite all his faults, the guy continues to win. I am on the "Fire Crowton" bandwagon. If Miles has a 9-3 season with a good QB and a new OC, he needs to go. I think Crowton will be gone after this year. LSU has made a lot of mistakes this year, but they're still 7-1 with some more wins ahead of them. 10-2 is where I think we'll end up. That's not a bad season with JJ and JL sharing snaps and GC calling the plays.

TigerFan128 it's really simple. What do you value more Championships or winning seasons? I would rather have what Saban did in 5 years and win Championships. Championships are what matter to me.

shite.

Only if they're living under some kind of a rock. That thing only gets replayed about 400 times every Halloween.

Yea you prolly right about that if you have watched an ole miss lsu game you have seen this run... I was just saying there are too many lsu fans that think lsu began playing football when saban was hired and dont know the really history of our program and i just think its sad.

I hate Saban but im not going to be stupid enough to think Miles is even close to being as good as Saban. And for the post about how you dont read post that are not spelled correctly and shite..... do you enjoy listening to Miles with his stupid talk?

but that is just it...anyone can have an opinion on who is better.....what is the absolute bottom line in terms of measuring performance? wins/losses.....i don't care how you spin it, what you say or do, in the end, it all comes down to winning and losing....and by that criteria, miles has performed slightly better than saban, and certainly not significantly below. period.

then they are equal in that category....both won a national title. I value both, but taking into account we can't win a nc every year, then i want the next best thing, which is a top five ranking, and a top ten at the very least....this post doesn't make sense...they both won championships...

Miles also had 2 SEC West Titles and 3 if you count ties. Each of those years he was 6-2 in the SEC. Saban managed to win one title with three losses.....that was good luck for us, just like 2007 was for us....but it is not the norm for a team to win the SEC with three losses. I will say this without a shadow of a doubt, the SEC West is much stronger today than when saban coached here. Alabama was down then, ole miss was a joke, as was state...it was usually just us and auburn battling it out.
