There have also many many instances where lsu won in the last second and had great clock management....
You kind of made my point. Why does it always come down to the last second with Miles teams? Am I asking too much for us win handedly every now and then? Say, all but two games a year?

You can knock Saban all you want, but he's won 2 1/2 NC's in less than 10 years.
using your logic, only 2......if you give him half of the 2007 nc, then you take away half of the 2009 nc.....shula had a LOT of talent on that team which people tend to forget....much of it now in the pros.

well we had three games this year won easily...probably one more coming...haha...
seriously, i understand your point...i agree. But, don't forget, saban...like miles, used to take his foot off the gas once lsu jumped out ahead of a team...expecting to just play solid defense and not turn the ball over....used to drive me crazy then too. I'm not a blind miles lover, many faults...but i just can't argue the bottom line, wins and losses.

I don't think there is any doubt we were a better coached team then. I do not like Saban simply because he was always looking at LSU as a stepping stone. But he put us on the path and Miles is slowly driving LSU off the cliff. I don't think the current Admin will allow what happened at the end of the 80s to happen now. I hope.
This...these are the posts I don't get. The guy didn't win more at lsu (although he did score a lot more coeds than miles) and lost to the likes of UAB...and to say he put us BACK on the map is aggreable, but to say miles is slowly driving lsu off the cliff...that is where the intelligence thing comes in and the facts just don't add up. Again, Saban's SECOND BEST YEAR HE HAD THREE LOSSES.....Miles, in five years, has had three seasons better than that. In addition, he is currently 7-1, and that is the best record lsu has had at this time of the year in 37 years.....so as of right now we are not going off cliffs.....and to say the current admin won't allow this????? what does that mean...we are 58-16 under miles....three top 5's, two bcs wins, bowl every year, and the recruiting is as good as it has been at lsu...ever. That is where you guys go astray.

Why is Crowton still here? Why is JJ the starting qb? Miles needs his Lesticles back.

See your posting inconvenient facts though, the negatigers always come back with just wait until we lose the next 3 of 4, or it's not that we are winning, it's how we are winning. I seriously think some of these people get excited when we screw up in the games so they can hurry back to tigerdroppings and post their "See I told you so's".

After reading ALL the posts on this rant... I do believe that US OLD FOLKS.. are the only ones who CAN go back all the way to 1959 (I was little but I remember my dad going to the games)and what the younger kids don't understand is that there have ALWAYS been those who sat on the sidelines and put down the team for ANYTHING that went wrong, and overlooked any of the good! Nowadays, with the internet and the capability of posting things and staying virtually unknown, it has become easy for people to write anything they want (ex: monkey f@#king a football??? give me a break). The fact is if they took the time to truly study the entire history of LSU football, they would see that we are NOT considered mediocre. We are written about (and have been for years) as Elite! But because people constantly POST things and people read these POSTS, they really think that these opinions becomes facts, because they read it!! There is nothing wrong with disagreeing, but sometimes people just need to give it a rest! Psychology 101: Positive things are not suppose to cause a negative emotion! What exactly is it that upsets some of these bloggers when they read something positive about LSU????I don't get it! It is almost like it makes them Angry that anyone has hope or belief that it will turn out good! Sometimes their automatic response it to go into an obsene (usually shows signs of incompetence) rant! Intelligent people can usually disagree when they state facts or just opinions without using obsene language! If you can't....you show your ingnorance!!! For or Against what someone says...just show that you have at least common courtesy and half a brain!

three yards, cloud of dust, play defense
this was the football I grew up learning and watching. The exotic offenses are feast or famine at the college level, they have some good runs but they all get figured out and countered in time.
Fundamental football is what we a really pissed about not seeing more of from our Tigers. You cannot scheme your way out of it, this Football not Basketball.

i've lost way too much money on lsu this season to bet them as a dog at home....i gonna remember you, and if this turns out to be correct than i'm gonna need your cell phone # for future betting advice.
haha...i don't bet anymore. Sometimes betting can make you change who you actually like.
I post on another site a weekly 5-6 team spread pick.....and have been quite good this year....one week going 6-0. I did go 2-4 one week though...lol...for the year i'm 33-15....not bad. My game of the week this week is the cornsuckers over missouri....i also like georgia a lot.

The fact is Mauck leaving early put as a disadvantage. We had a rebuilding year and lost 2 games in the regular season. That was as good a regular season record-wise as any of Miles.
EVERYBODY knew that whoever came in as the next coach was taking over a program that was set up for greatness. Just look at the draft record over the next few years. The talent was here, the facilities were here, the fan support was here. To go back now and say that the program was mediocre at that point is just flat-out wrong.
WHAT? you mean now we have excuses whey we were in a bad qb situation???? lmao....no way, we should have had someone ready to go right? Here is a FACT, lsu had more first and second team all pre-season sec guys on their team than anyone EVER in the SEC...at any school...and they lost three games...and you call that rebuilding....lmao.

Saban's teams were head and shoulders above what Miles puts on the field. Nobody outside of a few LSU fans would dispute that.
of course not, who can debate the saban lovers....of course, unless you want to compare wins/losses...but hell, who counts those...i tell you this though...that saban gives a mean press conference and he has the look of a real coach...lol....shiny rim guy...lol
So I thought you were going to come back and tell me how wrong i was about 2004 with FACTS...but instead, you come back and give excuses about qb's and rebuilding and OPINION that saban had better teams..(not backed up by results however).

I'm an Auburn fan, and we are happy that Miles and his staff are at LSU. We were relieved when he didn't go to Michigan, but we want Saban and Meyer gone.
What does that tell you?
Of course sometimes the "be careful what you wish for" rule applies (see Michigan, Nebraska, TN, etc.) so I think the real issue is not whether or not Miles is an elite coach, but rather he's a known commodity and it could be worse.
Miles can steer the magnificent ship without hitting an iceberg, but he doesn't know where it's going to dock.

It tells me you are a complete dumbass since you have lost the last three years in a row to our clown of a coach......and finally was able to pull out a 7 point win at home this year.
I think you are a little high on AU right now. You are in for a reckoning i believe. You are the same team lsu throttled last year, minus newton.....you better hope he stays another year or you are back there again.....fwiw he is not pro material so he may stay..which is good for you. It's funny, an auburn fan talking shite when they have never accomplished a damn thing in their history....lmao.....i think you are going to lose AT LEAST two games coming up......and you will be nowhere to be found.

Wow, you would be more beleivable if you didn't make things up. (LSU has had a record as good or better than this at least a half dozen times during the time frame you cite.)

BTW, I was called an idiot, gramps...etc....well, I'm getting old at 43....but do have an MBA from LSU, and fwiw some of those 25-30 range women still love to hang with a well-to-do old timer like me......

How many wins does Miles need to get each season, for it to be deemed a success?
10?
11?
12?
More?
10?
11?
12?
More?

I have nothing to prove, and i'm not bragging. I'm just stating facts, like i have tried to do on this thread....fwiw...it probably doesn't have a lot to do with my wrinkly dick or my looks...probably has more to do with being a winner in life...whether with personality and/or career.....just saying...
