Alabama is a blue blood. They have decades of rich history with National Championships. They recruit at the highest level because of this. Saban is the best recruiter in the game period.

Keep in mind that LSU didnt start doing this until Saban stopped by. 50-70 years from now, LSU will probably be considered a "blue blood".

When you look at it a certain way. This is basically the beginning of LSU becoming dominant. Recruiting is great and overall more sustained.

Right now we have to settle for a natty every handful of years because Saban cherry picks recruits.

Who raids Louisiana when hes gone? I think youll start to see a sharp increase in LSU stock in the next 10 years. Just need a coach who doesnt get complacent.

Well, when you consistently recruit in the top 10 and sometimes even top 5 and you are neck and neck with Alabama as far as NFL players are concerned, why would you not be compared to them?

LSU is a blue blood, I don't care about who did what 50 years ago. LSU has been a consistent winner for 100+ years with a rich history of college football legends and multiple national titles. I don't give a shite about how many titles Bama claims or what USC and Michigan and Nebraska used to do. This is modern college football, LSU doesn't take a backseat to anyone. Go out there, get the best recruits on campus and coach em up.

LSU will never be a blue blood, but in today's game being a blue blood doesn't matter. We recruit at a level where we should be more competitive with Alabama, and although we won't this year, we seem to be trending in the right direction (at least compared to when we had Miles)

It's okay to compare LSU to Alabama, but it's not okay to want everyone fired because we aren't Alabama.

Over the last 150 years of college football LSU is easily one of the best 20 and probably one of the best 15. That puts them around the 90th percentile and I don't care who you root for...that's elite and thats a blue blood.

Didnt start doing good till then. One natty over half a century ago does not a good program make. We now have three since 2000 alone.

I think the 1958 to 2003 championship drought and awful seasons in late 80’s and 90’s to be honest with you is the reason most people (non LSU fans) don’t consider LSU to be a blue blood

LSU has won 3 national championships in the last 17 years. Thats more than your "blue bloods" Ohio State (1), Texas 1, USC (1), Michigan (0) Notre Dame (0)

Who gives a shite about titles Michigan won in the 1930s? Harvard claims 7 National titles. Are they a blue blood? LSU is every bit or more so a blue blooded program than any of those in the year 2020. Don't make excuses for losing.

It is elite, but LSU isn't a nationwide brand, the hallmark of any blue blood. You can't measure blue-bloods by the success that they have.

Proof of this would be how LSU has been a relative afterthought this year nationally while people talk about Michigan and Penn St. daily. All three teams have had similar seasons, but the one that no one cares about is the defending national champs

nationwide brand,

Who is aside from Notre Dame, Miami (not as much these days) and Ohio State? Maybe USC when they’re good?

Alabama, Michigan, Texas, maybe Penn St.

People care about these programs even when they're bad. Who really gave a shite about LSU in the 90s? We both know the answer.

Being a blue blood in CFB isn't a popularity contest, it's a measure of power, wealth and of elite status. LSU is the definition of a college football blueblood.

Is it Texas or Alabama, no...but there are more than 3 or 4 bluebloods in the sport.

How so? Do you see LSU fans in other areas of the country that aren't from Louisiana? We complain about sidewalk Alabama fans all the time because they have a nation wide brand.

well we weren't considered a powerhouse prior to 2000...3 national titles later we are more relevant than some teams prior to 200 like ND, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas etc

While LSU's program may currently be in a better position that ND, Nebraska, Michigan and Texas, they are all still historically better programs than LSU.

If you only looked at 2000 and later, LSU is easily a top ten program (closer to top 5) and sure, they have had some down years but it's the years before his arrival combined with that they've done after that still has them above programs like Florida, Miami, Florida State, etc who were historically just awful in football
