You know what? I've been thinking about 2004 and how, just maybe, 2010 (regardless of how legitimate I think it is or isn't) might fairly be called your compensation for 2004.
You guys beat Bama and I'll call it even. Still a little miffed about the cigars and eye-stomping, and Fairley's cheap shots. But, as he's getting fined for that in the big league now (exactly as I predicted he would) AND getting "Olayed" by $Scam - I may just have to let bygones be bygones.
After all - the enemy of my enemy is my friend (at least during Iron Bowl time).

Agree with everything the OP says.
Bama has the easiest walk into a championship game ever.
Play Arky early before they get it together, lose your biggest game at home. Then skip the SEC championship and the voters will just hand it to you.
After Sat, LSU would be the obvious SEC champs. If anything, they should make Bama go play Georgia. At least there would be a little bit of having to earn their spot. Rematches go to the team that lost initially well over 60% of the time. Unfair to LSU.

VERY rarely, in all these many years as a 'die hard' LSU fan do I EVER pull for AwBarn. EXCEPT for this weekend.

not even close - you were undefeated and didn't get a chance. This is unexcuseable. In fact, the memory of your being screwed in 04 is why I was not upset about your getting there last year - and winning the NC in great style. You deserved it.

Native - Agreed. I remember that year - great, undefeated Auburn team just got left out to hang. I believe that was year USC just DEMOLISHED Oklahoma or maybe UT in the Ship. Auburn was the only team that could have hung w/ USC that year -- maybe even beat them. I was almost as MAD then as I am now!!
