It was just a short time ago when Clyde, Joe, and Coach O weren't good enough for the Tigers. After all, Clyde was just a 3 star, Joe couldn't start at osu and Coach was a loser...just goes to show that hard work and a desire to win is still important...

Upvoted. But tired of hearing this crap. O has more than proven himself since his intern stint at USC......Anyone that doesn’t like him at this point will never like him.

I don’t remember anyone saying that Clyde and Joe weren’t good enough for the Tigers.

Make a better thread title, or this will get anchored.

Are you serious? Heading into this season rantards were saying Emery and Price would be starting by SEC play. Even after season started they were complaining about CEH being in the game. As for Joe, they were saying if he couldn't start for Ohio State he must not be good enough for LSU. You had to be under a rock to miss that.

Clyde- most of us thought he was just a placeholder until one of the freshmen (most expected Emery) emerged. Wasn't until the Florida game that he started to produce (not yards per carry, but yards per game).
Funny how much better he got vs the meat of the schedule.

Burrow- to a much lesser extent, but there was still some second guessing beginning to creep in midway through last year. Sure, everyone kept repeating "but take away the drops and he looks good", but DAMN we had the drops. How late into last season before he finally cracked 50% on the season?

Burrow's been on fire all year, and now Clyde is too.

Your memory must be worse than mine, then. Particularly where Clyde was concerned. Most people, myself included, through Clyde would be passed up by the two freshmen by the end of the season. They’re both bigger and faster than Clyde.

There were also some who thought Burrow would be Ettling 2.0, not an unreasonable assumption , since he was relatively unproven. And he started off shaky (not relative to the last few QBs pre Ettling in particular, though) in respects to expectations but after half a season you could see that spark.

None of the concerns were unwarranted. What has happened is a clear example of why fans should take a deep breath from time to time. We don’t see everything the coaches do and most of us really only have marginal understanding of the decision making processes in a major college program.

Drops and very very poor offensive line play. We were in the 100s on sacks allowed and tackles for loss.
