I think the reason many LSU fans are aggravated is this:
despite our better body of work, had we lost that game by a FG in overtime (on the road), we would have dropped farther than Bama and there would be no discussion of a rematch.
I can never remember a team losing a regular season game and no dropping a single spot in the polls. And I have been watching football for a long time.

Not quite... but I will accept:

I don't know if I'll ever understand LSU fans' absolute disgust of the notion of having to play Bama again. Bring those frickers on. I want nothing else. We beat them but the missed field goals has caused everyone to doubt the validity of those wins. Bring their asses to Nola. Bring all their pom pom waving fans to the quarter. Let's do this shite.

The reason why I am aggravated with the possibility of rematch is simple:
We know Bama can play with LSU because they are a very good team, but we beat them at their house. They will get a second chance at a national championship, but if we happen to lose in the BCS championship game, we don't get another chance.
The rematch would not favor either team, and it is the way the system works. But Bama is getting a second chance, and LSU will not be afforded the luxury of another chance.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
It's sabers for Saban and Miles.
They thrust and they parried 'till one soon was carried
Twas not the one known for his wiles.
"The Process! The Process!", He called out aloud
Whiles throngs of believers were tossed
Between true disbelief and volumes of grief
That the Littlest General had lost.
