Have Mettenberger going to the Cardinals at #10 overall.

2014 Draft Report

quote:

10. Arizona Cardinals LSU QB Zach Metterberger This is a pro-style quarterback with a big frame and great arm strength who throws a pretty ball — basically everything Bruce Arians seeks in a quarterback. In fact … doesn’t he remind you a tad of Carson Palmer? Hmm.

Carson Palmer-One and done

quote:

The Cardinals essentially will be hitting refresh at quarterback next season for the fifth straight year. We can't blame them for not drafting a quarterback this past season in what universally was considered a weak group, especially when the 2014 class could feature five to seven first-round picks. (In our early draft projection this week, we have them taking LSU's Zach Mettenberger.)

So, a QB having a terrible game against the best defense in football means that the Cardinals should give up on the Carson Palmer experiment? What a retarded premise. Moving on from Palmer isn't a bad idea, but this article is poorly timed.

No, but having a terrible QB is a good reason.

I doubt the Cardinals would trade one statue of a QB (Palmer) for another (Mettenberger). Especially after watching Wilson and Kapernick run all over the field making plays on them 2 times a year. ZM may have a chance to get picked in thh first round, but I don't see it being by Arizona

The more interesting link (IMO) is one more click away. They have Mett projected at #10 overall.

Ha, dude hes been pretty bad against everybody. They wont seriously compete unless they bring in someone with a higher ceiling.

Mett wont go quite this high, Cards should be a top 10 pick.

read this quote from the article:
quote:

But following the Cardinals' 34-22 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, it's pretty obvious that Palmer isn't likely to be around for the second year of his current contract
according to this guy, the 49ers should probably give up on Kaepernick too. Carson Palmer's offense scored 19 more points than Kaepernick's did against the Seahawks.

I agree that Carson Palmer is not the answer. But, losing to the Seahawks and playing bad against them isn't an indication that a player isn't working out. They have the best defense in football. They're going to make a bunch of QBs look stupid this year.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney This easily could be a quarterback, depending on the play of Mike Glennon and, more importantly, the future of Greg Schiano. A new coach might want to bring in his own guy. It wouldn’t stun us if Oregon’s Marcus Mariota flies up into this range once the season is in the books.

As a Saints fan. This would suck.

Yeah, would suck to face a player that doesn't play 100% every snap.

The Cards' lone Super Bowl trip came on the back of a statue QB with a strong arm and pinpoint accuracy. Just saying.

Obviously the hype machine has been out of control with the guy, but this is just retarded.

I would love to see Mett go to the Pats...Brady isn't going to play forever and their system is built for a pro-style QB.

He would fit better there than Mallet. Pittsburgh would also be a good fit.

I said he would be a great fit with the Pats and I would love for him to go to my Steelers but have you ever watched a Steelers game in the last 5 years? Our offensive line is just horrid. Might as well sign up to be on injured reserve if you're as slow as Mett. Our line is beyond injury prone.
