My point continues to be that Darron Thomas is not an 'average' college QB... and our defense ate him up. He's thrown for more TDs than your QB and about 250 less yards with a much more balanced offense and a RB (LaMichael James) that has nearly 100 more rushing yards than your entire team. LSU's defense had to pay attention to both pass and run... It only has to pay attention to your pass, how do you think that will work out?
No doubt that Darron Thomas is a very good QB but he comes no where close to matching Geno when we are speaking strictly about passing. And 250 yards in 3 games is a lot. That's 83 yards less per game.

Geno has thrown for 1008 yards and is 4th in the nation in passing yardage... hmmm...
I know you aren't serious. You haven't even played a team with a top 75 D yet. LSU will have twice as many yards as LSU. Hell, you struggled with creampuffs this year. This isn't LSU from last year. D is significantly better, and so is the O. You can argue your stats all day.....keep in mind competition matters on stats...and you have played no one yet. You will find out Saturday...Only way you stay in the game is with turnovers by LSU. If LSU wins turnover battle, or is even in it, LSU will roll by at least 14 points, and probably more. You can count on that.

This is actually a serious question because I didn't get to watch any of the game. Why was Maryland able to play y'all so close last weekend?

High enough to stop the 56th ranked rushing team.

I'm not saying LSU will lose this game but you will not blow out WVU. Anyone who thinks this game will be a blowout is pretty foolish.
All true. 27-17 Tigers.

It was a blowout as we were up 34-10. They scored a touchdown with a couple minutes left in the 3rd. On the next series Geno threw a pass to Ivan McCartney and he bobbled the ball causing it to take a freak bounce right into the Maryland player's hands. The interception wasn't Geno's fault. They then scored on that drive. After that they had momentum on their side and the crowd was able to get back into the game. They then stopped us on the next series and scored again. We absolutely dominated them the first 40 minutes of the game. Our defense also started to get tired as both offenses were playing very high paced and there was a very high number of snaps that game.

So to be clear, we haven't played a legit passing attack and that is cause for concern, but you playing three patsies and thinking WVU are world beaters is not. Got it.
but our defense IS. Ask Oregon about the defensive blowout we put on them. You look at yards, LSU scores points.

That'll be the difference. Ours doesn't.

You also don't have a fast paced offense.
Posted on 9/21/11 at 5:13 pm to yidio10
Because defenses never got tired until people started running no-huddle, blur, high paced offenses. Be sure and tell that to every power rushing attack ever.

Never said that but it's a hell of a lot easier to sub players in and out.

Is this the same Geno Smith that threw for a big 119 yards against us last year?
Is that what I am suppose to fear?

Therick I never said our defense would not tire out. Reading comprehension would do you a lot of good.
