Imagine if UGA would have put a redshirt on him, come on.

Yeah, that redshirt would have given him a lot of gametime experience...

And Jarrett wasn't being "groomed" to take over this team last year, even with his redshirt, RP was.. so his RS year wasn't doing for him what Staffords actual time in the games seemed to do for Stafford. So you can't compare that, either.

I mean seriously, compare Alabama's team now to when Stafford was a freshman. Furthermore, I think LSU's offensive team that surrounds JLee is pretty good.

If Lee was not "groomed" it's the coaching staffs fault. They knew the decision with RP was inevitable.

Haha. Stafford is a great QB, and will be great on Sundays. That's all I am trying to say. Lee has the arm, just needs to improve the accuracy. I hope he puts it all together soon.

Perhaps a better anology would be to compare the cast of "Ocean's 11" with the cast of "Friends" to how far Jarret Lee can throw off his knees. Because that would make just as much sense as comparing this year's LSU team to Alabama's talent when Georgia's QB was a Freshman.

Apparently they did not. Miles had made promises to RP and his family that he would do everything possible for the kid to succeed, and the coach lived up to his word, and believed in a talented kid, and wanted the BEST for that KID and all the other boys on the team.

Like another poster said earlier, to you these boys are just P&G numbers out there, that you want to see perform and make you all happy.

To these coaches, and to the parents, these boys are PEOPLE, that have feelings and strengths to build on and challenges to overcome. That's why they choose to work with 18-23 year olds. they are hoping to make better people, and make a difference in the players' lives along with making all those fans in the stands happy on a Sat. night....

Oops. I got the wrong guy. I get all those other white boy plain jane by-the-book QB's confused.

I just don't think it's logical to assume that since quarterback A improved a lot since his freshman year, then that means Quarterback B will do the same.

Truth of the matter is that, we don't know if he'll get better.

It's too sad that Lee has some of the best athletes LSU has ever seen on his team.

Stafford's freshman year he had no one to throw the ball to. LSU has playmakers Georgia had none.

Tell that to the scoreboard. There's clearly a trend here.

IMO lee won't get over it this season but he'll be much improved next year. Still think JJ needs a lot of quality snaps the next 3 games

sure thing He'll have his breakthrough in the spring w/ no pads/contact....or maybe in the purple gold game

i mean look how far hes come since AUB.

This shows very limited thinking. Players will normally show the most visible improvement during the offseason. My opinion is a combination of watching and gametime would be good for both Lee and Jefferson. Many times players need to step away from the field to really see what they're missing on the field.

I fully expect Lee to show progress after this offseason. Now, how much is really upon him and the coaching he gets.

Jay Barker, (BAMA QB in '92), is on a radio show here in the morning called the opening drive. Someone called in this morning and asked him about Lee. He said he saw a lot of things he liked about the guy. His confidence is one of the things he liked. He keeps throwing it in there even when it looks bad. He is not scared to make the decision to throw the ball and that is good.

I think a lot of people here will eat their words next year with respect to Lee.

I will give lee that he does just keep going back there and throwing it up no matter what. Double/triple coverage, throwing balls in the dirt on screens, throwing balls in the stands on screens. I want to believe he will improve he just reminds me of Drew Weatherford/Sean Glennon.

...and he is cocky about it, that is what I like. He throws that fricker in there like he has been threading the needle all day. Now that is the stuff great QB's are made of.
