Haha. You guys are just as overconfident and cocky as you were in '05.

I see this as an advantage for Iowa.

True, but I find the general feel from the fans kind of reflects on the overall atmosphere of the game. I see LSU taking Iowa lightly (albeit not as lightly as the fans you better hope). And Iowa working their asses off this month to end this season with a big W.

Also Ferentz went to the Orange Bowl after the 02 season and they partied in miami and had fun. They got blown out by USC. Ever since then Ferentz is all business with bowl games. It's only a vacation for the fans and the band. And it shows in Iowa's bowl record since then.

We'll give you, the 6th best team we've played all year, the attention you deserve.

LSU? They sucked this year and almost got best by a horrible Arkansas team. Iowa will stomp a mud hole in their arse! LSU, what a joke

guess that negates your "advantage" since cocky fans seems to be an advantage on the field now. But I guess when your Iowa, you have to look for all the advantages you can find

Don't doubt you'll have more fans than LSU at this bowl. Not a single person I know is excited about this bowl and none are going. It's just not a sexy match and it's not in a good venue for a lot of people.

Not to be rude but lets face the facts here. Not many people here are excited about this game because Iowa is a middle of the pack team in a WEAK B1G conference!

Even I admit I hate LSU's offense sometimes cause they play that boring Big 10 football.

Their is nothing flashy about Iowa. They are just there! Hope it turns out to be a good game.

Honestly...this feeling is based on a reason.

Top 4 Games:
Iowa: 0-4 averaging a score of 18.5-29.5 vs. the No. 12.75 ranked teams (ie Oregon)
LSU: 2-2 averaging score of 31.75-28.25 vs. the No. 12 ranked teams (ie UCF)

Middle 4 Games:
Iowa: 4-0 averaging a score of 26.5-13.75 vs. the No. 46.25 ranked teams (ie Rice)
LSU: 3-1 averaging a score of 34.25-21.5 vs the No. 51.75 ranked team (ie Boise State)

Bottom 4 Games:
Iowa: 4-0 averaging score of 38-13 vs. the No. 164th ranked team (ie Duquense)
LSU:4-0 averaging score of 45-18.25 vs. the No. 117.75th ranked team (Maine)

LSU (No. 17) will be Iowa’s third strongest opponent (behind MSU and OSU).

LSU's "best" win was a 35-21 at home vs. No. 2 (BCS, Sag) Auburn the 4th game of season. LSU's "worst" loss was at No. 26 (Sag, Unranked BCS) Ole Miss 24-27 week 8. Biggest point differential in a loss was 21, 17-38 at Alabama, their 10th game of season.

Iowa (No. 30) will be LSU’s sixth strongest opponent (behind Auburn, Alabama, A&M, UGa, and Ole Miss).

Iowa's "best" win was 38-17 at No. 38 (Sagarin, unranked BCS) Nebraska last week of season. Their "worst" loss was at home to No. 19 (BCS and Sag) Wisconsin, 9-28 in the 9th game of season. Wisconsin was also the largest point differential in a loss--19 points.

We may be the 6th best team you've played all year. But that's looking at the season as a whole.

We led both BCS bound Ohio State and Michigan State at halftime. But ended up taking the losses.
But the last two games Iowa played were convincing wins over Michigan and at Nebraska.

It seems we are now closing out games much better.

I think you guys are under-estimating Iowa. But you did that in '05 too. So it was to be expected.

And took a prayer of a pass with 4 penalties to do the job.

I can assure that is not the feeling of most of our fanbase. We're coming of a 4 win season in 2012. We are hardly cocky. Every fan base has a lot of idiots like that. Iowa has more than most. But in general we are aware it's gonna take hard work and planning by the Hawks to win this one.

It's funny that they are trying to deny all the obvious penalties on that final play in the Capital One Bowl.

One thing you guys fail to realize is that you led that game for a total of 45 seconds.

45 seconds out of 60 minutes. Who beat who? On the final scoreboard and during the game...

He is getting pissy. lol

I am looking forward to this game for 2 reasons. To see our future with Jennings and to get some sweet revenge for 2005.

That's a great reason to look forward to the game.
I'm glad someone here is actually excited about the matchup.
