Would you be happy if Wade can have Leonard Hamilton/FSU type results?

FSU is also a football/baseball school that is one step away from the Final Four. He has been to a couple Elite 8s and has had numerous 20 plus win seasons in Tallahassee. Numerous trips to the NCAA tourney. LINK

Heck yeah, I would be thrilled with those type of consistent results! The fact is that college basketball has continued to evolve and has even more parity in it today than ever before. And you cannot just assume a team will, or should, win a championship based on talent and coaching alone. All you can ask for is to have a coach and program that consistently puts an entertaining product on the floor, gets to the tournament and then hope they put together some sort of run. It is not always, and rarely is, the most talented or most well coached team that wins it all each year. You have to have some experience and luck fall your way to have it all line up for you. Heck, look at this year and how many people had Virginia, or Arizona, or Mich. St. in the final 4 and winning it all. And now look at where they all are - sitting at home not even having made it past the first weekend. All 3 of those teams are very talented and well coached. They just ran up against a situation where it was bad day for them and great day for other team, or a bad matchup situation for them and they got exposed.

I believe Wade will do great things here and will put together consistent appearances in the tournament and will be able to put together some runs while there. And that is, I believe, the most we can realistically expect.

Been a season ticket holder in MBB since 1976. This is what I want, in a 6-year cycle...

1. A top 4 in the SEC team every year starting in 18-19.

2. An occasional SEC championship, maybe 1 every 6 years.

3. NCAA Ty appearances 5 years out of 6.

4. Sweet 16 appearances in 3 of 6.

5. FF appearance in =1 of 6.

IMO, these are high goals, but I believe WW can lead us to them if we support him properly.

Also, why does this have to keep being a thing? Why do schools have to be labeled as any one or two sport schools. You hear it all the time...so and so is a football school and can never be good at anything else; or that is a “blue blood” basketball school, and will never be good in football; or they are great at the Olympic sports, but will never do anything in the Big 3. I get that some schools, generally smaller, or schools with less resources, need to focus on one or two sports to allocate most of their resources to become really good and known for that sport. But schools like LSU should have the resources and fan base to expect to be good/great in several sports. So the fact that we have traditionally had notoriety in football and baseball, and maybe larger swaths of our fan base like those sports better, shouldn’t mean that we can’t pull for basketball equally as hard and have high expectations for it.

As an LSU alum, I pull for LSU to do great in everything and have the expectation we should.

FSU is a baseball school until around late May every year...then they're just a football school.
