The buckeyes have proven over and over that the best way to make it to the title game is rack up the most wins, regardless of strength of schedule.

First, I wouldn't say two years is "over and over", three, yes. Second, 2006 we played at Texas. Third, if LSU played, say, App St, in place of Va Tech last year, they would NOT BE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. It would've been OSU vs. VT. And one of the main reasons Auburn was left out in 2004 was because their OOC schedule sucked. So, yeah, it is kind of important to schedule at least one good OOC team, so if, at the end, you have to "compare resumes", your team can get the nod.

LSU plays its tougher OOC opponents at the end of the year (say, in January) rather than the beginning. This year I anticipate OSU or USC, and it'll be another SEC beatdown.

Well, obviously, USC can't make the Cap One, and I don't think the Bucks will be in that bowl, either.

Maybe so, but it won't be LSU.

Then who?

UGA? Maybe, but they have a brutal schedule.

UF? Good chance; the game in the swamp could decide the SEC.

AU? Always solid but too many unknowns with a new system and O coach (though LSU did pretty good with Crowton). They'd be my dark horse pick.

LSU has as good a chance as anyone, maybe a little better.

I like how last year when Ohio State's OOC sucked, nobody would let it go. It was pretty much all anybody talked about.

Yet, when LSU has a bad OOC schedule, it's because nobody was man enough to schedule LSU...

It's easy. Last year you guys were coming off of a major beat down by Florida. So everyone assume that you guys were shooken up and were afraid to fight tougher boys.

Just the way the cookie crumble when Florida only let you score one major touch down the entire game.

Now what make LSU different from OHIO is, they are the national champs. They also won their NCG last year by a major lead 38-24. So naturally many would assume other people are afraid to schedule such a tough team.

With , LSU, it's different.

I blame LSU's OOC scheduling on whatever it is that Verge Ausberry is saying or what terms he's using to schedule a decent team. With Texas Tech, I think his offer was "you come here, we play in Houston". And their response was something like "yeah, no thanks".

I get the feeling that he's not playing straight up with the other schools and that pisses them off and makes them look elsewhere for an opponent. That would be my honest explanation. My LSU homer explanation is that they are scared to play us, but I just can't make myself believe that.

I really don't think LSU's schedule will be a big deal come the end of the year. The SEC will be so good this year that the big name game to boost SOS will be there. LSU doesn't have to play VT every year. Sure it helped last year, but it's not like USC or OSU who can't always count on big Pac-10 or Big-10 games like you can in the SEC, which is why you see USC go out and play home and homes with Auburn, Nebraska, and Ohio St.

After what LSU did to Va Tech in BR last year, would you want to play them? Not all teams think this way, but some probably do.

I really don't get why people dislike "easy" non conference games. To me, they're the most fun to watch. They don't have the atmosphere, true, but I like watching the Tigers blow someone out. Why wouldn't you?

Because most of us are college football fans, and this post confirms that you are not.

Not sure what your point is, but South Florida much better than App St. Tulane, North Texas

It changes every year.

Last year we played VA Tech and you played Bufalo and South Florida.

Why do you even care?

South Florida was ranked most of the year. Unlike Tulane, North Texas, Troy, App St.
