I hope this year is different than 2007, but I can't say I ran into the nice LSU fans who offer their tailgate hospitality. And I was walking around with a couple LSU fans. I have plenty of Auburn and Alabama friends, the general consensus is that Baton Rouge is the most inhospitable.

Admittedly, there is going to be a fair amount of obnoxious behavior on both sides, but Orson seemed to have a good time in 2007:

I hate Florida more than any other SEC school. I'll be obnoxious with tiger baiting every person.

I have a feeling if this questions was posed to the other 11 SEC schools, LSU would be in the top 2 of every single one of them.

I went last year and was harassed a lot after the game, all I did was start hitting on the girls they were with and it shut them up pretty fast. I would say they have some hot girls at UF, unless I was drunk and it was really dark.

We both have our share of a**hole fans who care very little about the game, but are there to party and raise hell with opposing fans. Good-natured back and forth is what makes college football great, and that is what I usually experience in Baton Rouge. I'm in mid 30's now, a decade ago I was a bit more raucous towards the opposition myself.I can't wait to get there on Friday, wear my Orange and Blue with pride and have some beers with some good college fans.

As a Gator fan I have to say it is disheartening but not surprising with some of the comments I have heard on here. I think like any fan base we have our good and bad elements, I have seen some of the things some of you all had said and it sickens me, just realize not all Gator fans are like this.

The one comment I have not heard from Gator fans is the Katrina comment, I really hope that was not widespread. My parents used to own a house in Diamondhead, MS before they sold it a few years before Katrina hit, so I definitely have a soft spot for the New Orleans and Mississippi Gulf Coast region. I think if I ever heard a Katrina comment from another Gator fan, I would give them a nice right arm to the lip myself.

What has really been bad in the last few years is that the UF fan base has gotten an influx of bandwagon former FSU and Miami fans. A lot of those same classless fans are now cheering for the Gators because we have the best team in the state right now. It's sickening but unfortunately there is some truth to it.

I just hope you all realize that is not all Gator fans. I have respect for all of the other SEC schools and my only regret is that I can't be in Baton Rouge for the game, can't find a ticket. Outside of UF though I have to say I cheer for LSU more than any other SEC school, so I hope it's a good game on Saturday.

I sense some BS in this thread. I met up and tailgated with a bunch of LSU tailgates at the swamp last year and there was never a single incident of any kind. Walked to and from the stadium and never saw a single incident. Seems incidents were a rare event and somehow they all got mentioned in this thread.

The Alabama fans were the worst about this in 2005. Again,it wasn't "all" or really "that many",but why anyone would go to the trouble ,let alone 20-30 to make signs laughing about it is beyond me.

With that said, 90% of everyone's fans are good to great-- 10% are awful.Bad thing about that is with schools like LSU and Florida , that 10% can be a lot of clowns. Like the idiots from LSU calling Florida players.

I went to Gainsville in 96 and 98 and I will never go back again. Not even if I have free tickets and air fare. LSU fans can be pretty bad, but UF was BY FAR the worst place I have been, and I have been to every stadium except SC and UGA. The only experience I ever had that even came close to UF was having a rum and coke thrown on my by an Auburn fan while marching back to the bus after beating them in 96. I guess I sorta started it though, when I knocked him down with my snare drum and put my foot in his back. He broke ranks and I did warn him. Anyway, UF was worse, both inside and outside the stadium.

Last year at UF I had a bottle thrown at me by some douchetastic frattard on top of the UF bus in the LSU lot. I also had a girl walk up to me out of a crowd the night before, point at my face, and say "frick you!" These people have no class. I'll never go back and spend my money in that town again.

I don't think the Katrina comments were widespread. Again, I only heard them in 06 from one white trash guy and about 30 or so UF fans at the Swamp (the bar, not stadium). All were young so maybe it's just that segment. Either way, though it was only a hanful, I was shocked that anyone could bring something like that up. They shoulda been shot. That said, I know we have dbag fans like that as well. Here's to a good game.

BamaTiger it's absolutely wide speards. They are the scum of the earth and i hate everything about Florida. I've heard the Katrina comment on numerous different occasions and not just me heard these types of foul comments.
