Finley's worst game was against Auburn where LSU got blown out.

54% completion
0 TD - 2 Int
Fumble
7 punts

Perhaps their offensive coaches will better utilize him than ours did. Finley has talent.

Lotta downvotes. Guess we still have a lot of "E was the genius behind 2019" people here.

Because they saw how shitty our OL play was that game.

Because they see his tools and potential and figure with good offensive coaching he can improve and maximize said potential.

I like Finley. He got lost in a numbers game, but definitely has talent. I wish he would have gone somewhere else.

Because hes a Freshman that showed potential. His first two starts were as good as weve seen at lsu as a Freshman.

He was really good in those two games and he had a couple bad games as well.

Do you think the only way they got to see him was when we played auburn?
Cmon dude obviously they saw his film and thought he could be developed.

His top 4 was alabama Auburn Houston and penn state. So obviously they saw him as a guy that could be developed

Tom Brady wouldn’t have had a good gamete way our Oline played.

Finley had good and bad games as a true freshman in the sec behind a shitty line but his potential Eason full display.

TJ Finley in 3 years has legit 1st rounder potential if he’s coached correctly. All the tools are there

No one cares what he did in one game. Also, who is to say whether that was the fault of others on offense? Lastly, I wouldn't even give Joe Burrow a scholarship based on what he did his freshman year.

What did Jamarcus Russell have in the way of tools that Finley doesn't?

Pipeline to Ponchatoula High and the surrounding area. Also hoping that a relationship with Jacoby Matthews will make him consider Auburn buit won’t work.

I’d argue that A&M was his worst game.

To your point though, as others have said, he was a true freshman that showed some potential and has good measurables. Why not take him?

Slightly stronger arm, much more accurate, much better pocket presence just to name a few qualities.

Because Finley is a talented QB and their new HC sees the potential that he has. It is really a no brainer.

A bad game as a true freshman thrown to the wolves won’t determine Finley’s fate. He has a chance to learn and move in to bigger things.

He has talent. He has low end SEC starter talent. He absolutely 100% does not have NFL first round pick talent
