In all honesty all of this debate and the real issue is the Ole Miss loss. The debate over Miles and a different coach comes down to the mess he made of the Ole Miss game.

I beg to differ. In addition to Ole Miss, there were the unnecessarily narrow escapes at Miss State and at Georgia. There were the lackluster showings against Washington and Vanderbilt. There was the "we can win this in our sleep" attitude evident against the cupcakes. And there was the lack of killer instinct that gave Arky a second life (though in fairness, their offense did a fine job). I understand that we had an inexperienced quarterback, and I'm hopeful that the experience gained this season (which almost everyone felt at the outset would be just fine at 10-2 or 9-3)will provide the base for a more focused, crisper offensive scheme next year. Don't forget that Crowton was also the guy whose offensive schemes, with experienced players (Flynn was further along than JJ this year, despite not being a full time starter before), got us pretty far in 2007.

If you don't know then you should not post such a question.

I will say Yes... the Get Back Coach we have as an asst cost us 2 of the 3 games this year.

Actually, I will take this a step further and say that if we had the 1994 or 1995 Nebraska football teams playing for LSU, we would be in the SEC title game.

No, coaching had very little to do with it. It was the FR QBs last year and the SOPH QBs this year. The QB is almost everthing, see USC and OK this year.

Depends on the coach.

With a really good coach, yes. Even with all our problems, we have more talent than Bama.

They just are better coached with more disclipine.

100% agree! The idiots on this board can't seem to grasp this. Two of the biggest names in coaching struggled with FR QB play and everything is ok but CLM does it and we want to fire the whole damn staff.

Dont even get these Les Miles lovers anymore to discuss. To them Les is the greatest coach to ever coach, he is a mastermind and there is no one else they would rather have. He does hold a record that most likely wont be repeated, he is the only coach to win a BCS title with 2 losses.

Coaching had very little to do with the fact we had the worst offense in the SEC? Coaching had little to do with the playcalling? We have a bunch of 4* and 5* recruits on our offense, and the fastest person in college football (who rarely saw the field) - and had a worse offense then Tulane.

I'm sorry, but that is coaching. The utilization of our talent was terrible. I'm not saying JJ is perfect, but the coaches deserve a majority of the blame for the shitty offense this season.

Offshore, your the man! Why can't others see it. In the SEC you win with JR and SR QBs. The game is too fast for FR and SO QBs. Tebow and FL lost 3 or 4 games his SOPH year which was his first year as the main QB. Do LSU fans want JJ to be better than Tebow? Tebow is the best college QB in the last 25 years.

Why yeah we are LSU we are not supposed to loose a game and play perfectly. JL and JJ are supposed to be the best QBs in the country and win the SEC and National Championships in their first yrs. Who is Tebow when you have JL and JJ!

Do these people realise how stupid they sound complaining about winning 9 games under these conditions. I know Miles has his short comings but he's still a damn good coach.

In two years if we don't atleast play in the SEC championship game then I would say well maybe it's time for a change because we will have experienced QBs.

It would have taken more than a differnet coach. A different QB would be needed also. I'm hoping RS freshman Chris Garrett will emerge next year. If not, there isn't a championship QB on the team.

We were not going to beat Bama without Jefferson, Scott, and Peterson in the 2nd half. That is no fault of the coaches. Not to mention the jobbing the refs put on.

I still think we lose to Florida.

We would have easily beaten Ole Miss with better coaching. You are looking at 10-2 and going to the Cap One.

With this OL?

WHO recruited this offensive line? Shouldn't a former offensive lineman know all the desirable qualities you want in an OL? (Not just physical attributes either)........

you are talking about performance. While we struggled all year on offense I still say coaching only cost us the Ole Miss game.
