The signing of Wade is a huge victory for Schroyer, who himself coached the Cowboys for three seasons before moving over to the A.D. position full time. However it also has risks.

Wade could be suspended by the NCAA or be given a show cause with some recruiting limitations.

Either way Schroyer is ready to accept the chances for his guy.

Schroyer has vowed to make McNeese “relevant” nationally in college basketball. “Our window is now,” Schroyer has previously said. “This is not the same job it was five years ago even when I got here. We can’t settle for being happy just make the conference tournament. “We can’t settle for mediocrity.”

Just for perspective.

quote:

The notice charged Wade with five Level 1 and two Level 2 violations. The NCAA heard Wade’s case in early February and is expected to rule on it and hand out any punishments if they are to come, sometime in the summer.

This backs up part of what ForeverLSU5 said in previous posts. He also said he would not be given a show cause but according to the article that has not been ruled on yet.

I think that is a good move for McNeese. Worst case they have to reach out to hire someone of a caliber closer to what you would expect them to get. Best case, they get Wade for a year or two (or a few more) until an option comes up for him that he wants to pursue.

It kind of a win or draw situation for McNeese, no real losing scenario.

LOL. I have first hand knowledge that he despises fat Scott. He'll never coach here as long as fat boi Scott is around.

Well then it says a lot the only job he could get was McNeese and I would rather a great AD over a pretty good basketball coach 10/10

I mean I guess it makes sense if you’re a McNeese St fan, besides that season tickets seems a little excessive. But I guess season tickets can’t be that expensive..

Much better coach

This was you, right? What is much better than “pretty good” and how does McMahon fit that description?

Wade is not a great x and o coach. He’s just not. McMahon was damn good at it at his last stop. I’ll give him another year. This team just sucks in terms of talent and I think quit.

Wade is a great recruiter, very average coach. Combined + lack of post season success = pretty good coach.

Always has been legal for Blue Bloods, with Balls of Steel Administrators. Wade just over estimated his bosses Manhood.

I was told over and over on here that a power 5 team was going to scoop him up as soon as he’s cleared. What happened?
