I think he is using optimism to support his optimism. He is also basing it on a coach that has proven he can win with his system. My hope is he recruits the kind of players that will stay 3 years with the 1 and done types so they can really become a "team" foundationally. Imagine a D Taylor or EMan running the show... that is optimism.

I just want a team that gives effort more games than not. I can't believe that even is something that has to be discussed but what we saw under Johnny proved it can become a serious issue when there is no accountability.

The more you watch, the more you understand what a home run hire he is. The way he completely understands the game, what he wants his team to do, how he adjusts to what the other team is doing in game, how he approaches training and recruiting, how driven he is with the highest of expectations, and how he truly believes that LSU is a "sleeping giant" destination job, it may be the most absolute home run hire for LSU in a long time.

I agree. It's hard to look at the whole Duke Lacrosse debacle and not wonder if Alleva didn't have the chops, and the Johnny Jones era was a disaster as well, but that's athletics. You win some and you lose some.

You have to admit that Alleva has presided over one of the overall most impressive athletic runs in the history of any program, not just LSU. National runner up and SEC champions in multiple sports just last year. You may not want to give him credit for the success, but that's pretty dumb. Wait until you see the difference between LSU basketball this year and last and then try to make the argument that the man at the top isn't responsible but is just reaping the benefit of being at LSU.

Retaining and supporting Mainieri and Breaux, hiring Torina and Wade, etc., he's made a lot of good decisions. There's no doubt that Wade will erase the Jones blemish. Yes, he should have gotten rid of Miles sooner, but that was a guy who gave us a national championship. I don't blame him too much for letting that one play out a little longer.

If the O experiment were to work out, it would be nothing short of brilliant. I'm not nearly as confident in O as I am in Wade, but certainly this year will go a long way in determining if Alleva was just average and a little lucky or one of our best AD's ever.

I love his energy and the way he teaches. I was kind of worried that Wade might be a bit of a pushover because he can come off as a nerdy guy somewhat, but after watching the videos I can see that's not the case at all. He has a serious approach without being an arrogant a-hole like Saban. I liked how he corrected the guy at the end and also gave props to the guy with the ball for beating him. I would love to play for a guy like this.

Am I the only one that found it funny that when the last guy came out (to the far right cone) he said "come on let's get good some good ones!" He also didn't know his name lol.
