yeah that includes the party pass seats.

and anyone who has been to both stadiums would disagree about the venue change being a bad thing

The seats at JerryWorld are on tracks. They can adjust the spacing to alter capacity. They're going to remove seats to lower the seating capacity to ~83K. We would love 100K, but they would have too much trouble moving the tarp from Reliant to Dallas after the Baylor bowl game.

You totally pulled that out of your arse. They're not on tracks, the seats are firm with a capacity of 80,000. It's expandable to 110k because of the party decks.

No it's not. Cotton Bowl Stadium is a dump in the ghetto. Traffic in and out sucks as well.

Mascona had the commissioner of the Cotton bowl on 104.5 espn radio today, and the commish said that they would not reach 100,000 and he said attendance will be around 80,000.

175,386

83,002 (Kyle Field) plus 92,400 (Tiger Stadium)equals 175,402 less 16 NegaTigers = 175,386

Its a shame the Cotton Bowl is no longer played.. in the Cotton Bowl.

No it's not. Im not a die hard traditionalist like some but im a fan of tradition. Either way times change and in the end their is just a better option. The Cotton Bowl is a shithole. Being in that place at 11 am on Jan 1 in Dallas always sucked. I have been to that bowl 3 times and hated it every time. That probably had something to do with Roy Williams running all over the field but that bowl changed for the better by going to Jerry World. Nicer stadium, more money, better exposure. I can't speak for everyone but I know there are a lot of people that agree the Cotton Bowl changed for the good.

They actually are in fact on tracks. Jerry did this for the Superbowl and special events and described it in a media interview. It was also shown how its done on the show Build it Bigger when the stadium was being built.

Moving the seats closer together adds about 9-10K to the stadium. The rest is standing room/outside party.

Confirmed!

The guy said, "...A little over 80k."

They will add a few thousand SRO tickets.

Oh so am I, when things need to change they need to change. But when it is called the Cotton Bowl and there is a stadium called the Cotton Bowl played in the actual city it is promoted to be played in. Im all for. Especially when the stadium it is replaced for is too large for most events.

No doubt that Jerry World will be better than the old Dallas Stadium for this game! Come on! Who would rather play in an old run down stadium in a dumpy part of town than a brand new, state of the art facility! Get with the times!

I like tradition as much as anyone, but the old Cotton Bowl stadium is a dying (dead) relic. The Cotton Bowl at Jerry's World is a HUGE improvement for some of the very reasons you listed above...

That is fricking crazy! With my luck, I'd be sitting between the fatter cousins of Ironhead Heyworth and William the Refrigerator Perry.

nooooo, winter in big d cotton bowl is BRUTAL.
you do NOT want the cotton bowl in the cotton bowl.
if the ice storm hits, there might still be 20,000 no shows at jerry's world.

the cold weather comes from ALASKA. the great northern winds come 3000 miles without a tree or stick in the way.

i went to c.b. in '85 and there were about 1000 total in the stadium.

cold.........cooooooold m.f.

TAMU students got an additional allotment of standing room only seats. I'm not sure of the number.

Did LSU students get the same?
