Will LSU have a player drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft this year?

The last time the tigers went 2 straight years without a 1st round pick was 2002-2003. In fact that drought was actually from 2000-2003.

It would have to be one of the O-lineman right? I know the LBs are killing it but probably not first round.

Looks like Vadal will be the first Tiger off the board but most mocks Ive seen have him going in the 2nd round. I think if Debo is available for the Saints 2nd pick they should grab him.

This. You should ask NFL GMs.

I mean we won a championship in 03 so maybe two consecutive years ain't so bad...

Doubtful in 2016, so few are even available, Debo, Mills, Vadal, and Hawkins Am I missing someone? Maybe Gordon, if he doesn't get the extra year? Lamar?

A 4.38 gets Devi in the first.

Great point, It could be that having the juniors that might normally declare come back for their senior years is the difference. Is Rashard Robinson a first round talent? If he had played this year I think he couldve been a first rounder..

It is probably for the best. So many players have been drafted in first rd from LSU, it feels like this is a blessing in that it's a reality check for many players who have left too early hurting their pro prospects.
This class will put the work in and make bank on their 2bd contract anyways

no
All the future NFL first rounders are still Tigers

Who cares, honestly what difference does it make with the 2016 LSU football team

F the past. We've got the potential to tie or break the record of 1st round draft picks next year.

I don't see any going in the first, but I think we clean up in the second round. Anywhere from 2-4 are likely to go in the 2nd.
ETA: Next year will be crazy though. Locks for 1st round are Fournette, Adams, Dupre, White (all in the top 15) and Pocic. Beckwith, McMillian and Foster will fight for first ILB taken but Beckwith could just as easily slide to day 2 if he's not the first ILB taken. I see Godchaux as a first rounder but I'm hesitant to say lock because he doesn't have much buzz ATM. Then there are debatable guys like Dural and Neal who likely place in the 2nd round but have unique skill sets that make them fringe 1st rounders (aka maybe a team falls in love with them based on height and speed or pass rushing skill and quickness).
Early 2017 for LSU IMO
1st
Fournette top 5
Dupre top 15
Adams top 15
White top 20
Pocic top 20 - as a guard or tackle IMO
Godchaux top 25 - He's still not a lock, but I think playing a hybrid 3-4 DE 4-3 DT this year really boosts his interest from NFL clubs
Beckwith top 32-33, however many draft round 1 - again depending on if he is first ILB or not, I can't guage how he'll be drafted
2nd
Dural - Again Dural is crazy enough to run a 4.42 or better 40 at 6'2 200-205lbs with anywhere from a 35-37 inch vert. Pair that with 900-1000 yards 7-8 TDs, and he should be in the first round as well. For right now though, I think it's safe to say early second round.
Neal
3rd
Thomas - if Thomas can be like Ron Brooks was in his last year, this where I see him going. He'll be almost two years away from that injury and we'll be back to basics with the scheme for the secondary. If not, he's most likely a 5th rounder.
4th-5th
LaCouture - the guy I am least sure of. He doesn't make a splash, but he does his job well enough
Jefferson - this guy should put up really good combine numbers and if he actually does improve with us going back to basics, he could be way higher on this list
6th-7th
Smith - he would have to put up decent numbers (300-400 yards 4-5 TDs), but if he does, he'll definitely make a splash at pro day workouts and maybe even get an invite to a senior bowl.
Anyway, no less than 12 guys will be drafted from LSU next year.

Are you serious?
If LSU doesn't have at least two first round NFL draft picks every year, then Les is a failure. If those same players return for another season then Les is a failure.

Depends on need of course but I could see Vadal slipping in late first.
