Still waiting to see if OP will acknowledge that he had no clue about how good the recruiting class is next year...

That'd require someone admitting they didn't know something, that doesn't happen here

shite like this cracks me up.

Will LSU ever be a power house again. LSU has never been a powerhouse. A powerhouse lasts more than a 2-3 year span or shite that happened 60 years ago.

When was lsu a power house ? Sure dont remember that in 36 years and i looked in the history books, didn't see anything bout lsu considered a power house basketball program. Are you talking about the same school? Must be a different lsu?

I couldn't agree more. LSU has had some runs where they were very competitive but have never been a powerhouse and the final 4 trips they have made have been generally unexpected, the 1986 team was no exception, starting the tournament in the #11 slot in their region.

The 1979 team was a 3 seed with 80 & 81 being 1 seeds. no other team was higher than a 4 seed in their region. Dale Brown did have quite a run of postseason appearances, though with 15 straight post season trips from 1979 to 1993. 1982 & 1983 were NIT appearance followed by 10 straight NCAA appearances. In all those only 5 beyond the second round 2 final four, 2 elite 8, 1 sweet sixteen.

Competitive, not a powerhouse in my opinion.

At the end of the day, it's about RECRUITS... Look at the POWERHOUSES... Recruits Recruits Recruits... Good Gawd LOOK AT DUKES COMMITS....

Coaching is one part, but in reality PLAYERS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE...

Take Tremont off the team for example, and we are just a mediocre team until next years groups come in

Take Chris Jackson off the 80s team and we were just a mediocre team... Yes Shaq Made a difference, but if i were an opposing player, i'd let them pass it in to Shaq just to foul him (he couldn't make a free throw if his life depended upon it in college)....

The POINT GUARD play is soooo important, take Tremont off this this team, and we are NOBODIES... soooo RECRUITS RECRUITS RECRUITS Make teams powerhouses

1980-Elite 8
1981-Final 4
1986-Final 4
1987-Elite 8

Plus through the 80s and early 90s LSU was one of those teams that consistently played huge national tv non-conference games. You don't put 60,000 in the superdome for a non-confernce game if you aren't a national power.

I think Wade absolutely has a vision to make it one and the drive to get it done. I guess the question is will the administration be fully on board. Wade is all in and seems to have a maniacal drive to make LSU a powerhouse (or at least similar to Florida under Donovan---which was pretty damn good!). I know Wade isn't going to leave any stone unturned. My worry is that the current rudder-less ship of an administration won't fully buy in with him if/when he gets LSU really rolling in the right direction.

Agreed. Especially with how quickly good ones leave. Wade even said so in the presser when asked how he can get his team to step up when Tre is on the bench. He said something to the effect of 'Make sure they are long possessions so he can get a break'

Tre is a special player. Next year he will shine even more when he doesn't have to generate ALL of the offense and defense.

I also think a full year of coaching some of these younger players on our roster now will go a long way in the future. We might actually be "deep" if Wade can coach a few of these raw talents up a bit.

If fans continue to pack the PMAC and we are succeeding, the administration will give him whatever he wants.

Just look how long of a leash LSU coaches get when we are mediocre.
