Will it be easier to get to the MNC this year?

Since JJ won't be starting, LSU will need a different game plan. Saban knew how to shut down the JJ package, so his job on defense was easier. It should be more difficult to shut down an offense that will not be as predictable.
If this happens, then shouldn't LSU have a good chance to get to the MNC again?

Getting to the MNC wasn't a problem. JJ is what made things unpredictable for Saban the first time.

Without JJ, we lose game 1. The problem was that Saban spent the time between game 1 and game 2 finding ways to stop JJ. We then didn't attempt to change things until it was too late.

The more you think about the NC game the more you realize just how truly awful Jefferson was that game.

Seriously it's not hard at ALL to win a football game when one half of your football team does nothing. Jefferson might have been the easiest QB to defend in years.

JJ is finally gone. That will help big.

Bama's little cupcake schedule didn't hurt them last year getting to the game.

Our's isn't a strong as last season but I feel good about all the games.

Hard to say. A lot of SEC teams we played were without their QB and rebuilding.

UF and Auburn should better and they're both on the road.

Arky is on the road instead of home, which is always a thorn in LSU's side.

I think it's obviously easier OOC, though we shouldn't sleep on Washington.

I would say it isn't any easier this year than last year or any other year just due to our SEC schedule.

I agree. Without JJ game 1 is lost. My thought is that the coaches did not place much confidence in JJ's ability to go downfield, hence the MNC disaster.
Will coaches place more confidence in Mett, thus creating a different game plan. That should put more pressure on bama's D, and an easier trip to the MNC.

We did. JJ just decided to toss the ball to a Bama player.

Yes. LSU should be a near lock this year.

I was thinking the same thing. Their QB is great but.... Mett/our RB's are going to have fun with their defense, specifically secondary.

They went toe to toe with Baylor. Baylor!

No, it won't be easier.

We get S. Carolina out of the east this year instead of the easy 3, Arkansas looks to be very dangerous and we have to goto Little Rock(probably) where they seldom lose. If we make it to Atlanta we probably will meet UGA, who will want revenge and returns almost everyone. I don't think it will be easier. It is doable and if our guys come out of the gate like they did in 2011 we will be on track to make it there.

Do What?!? We didnt wait "too late" to change things at all. We didnt even attempt to change things the whole entire game.

Id have to look at other teams schedules, might need to go undefeated in sec play again to make it. We don't want to get stuck in a 3 way tie and not go to ATL

Shaw and Lattimore are really all they've got. And Shaw folds when tough defenses get close to him.

Arky almost lost to Troy, Troy! in Fayetteville. Only won by 10. And that was with J. Wright, Joe Adams and Greg Childs. All 3 of those guys are gone now. Not saying it'll be easy but I feel really good about that game. If their rush D is as porous as last year.....

Murray is a great QB but he'll look just like he did the last time we played him. Crowell will be hurt, again, and won't want to play.

Not posting this to be "in your face," just posting it. I really think we'll be fine.

Look at the game objectively without alcohol. There was a noticeable increase in tempo and changed play-calling. True, it only lasted a few plays before JJ lost his mind, but it definitely happened.
