Dude was money

Was it due only to Smart and Reid being out or is possible Benford wants him more involved than WW did?

He’s our best deep threat.

On a smaller scale of course.

I think he is going to have to, because I'm not sure we see Smart the rest of the season.

Obviously trading Smart for Graves is not a great trade (I think even Graves would agree). BUT, if Graves can shoot the 3 consistently, the his presence COULD give LSU a missing element.

Make no mistake, LSU is NOT a better team with Smart out. However, the threat of a 3 point shooter could change how teams are forced to try to beat LSU

Coach Benford acknowledged Graves as being the best shooter on the team. Tells me he's seeing more PT going forward.

Agreed...he is the best 3 point threat, along with Days. But, he struggles moving with and without the ball and he is a defensive liability. His playing time should consist of “spot play.”

Will Wade has also said that before and he only sees the court when Waters or Smart are out.

LSU is near the bottom in the SEC in 3-pointers made and 3-point %

A wing with size that can stretch the floor is one of the few areas this team has been lacking

Im kind of surprised it took this long for Graves to see some time. I definitely see a guy capable of giving us 6-8 good minutes each outing.

I think the assumption is that assistant coaches work more with the second team/bench players and the head coach works more with his top star recruits. As such, when an assistant coach is given the interim tag, he has a different perspective on the team based on the personnel he's dealt with throughout the season so those other players get more playing time and the team looks different overall.

Obviously the coaches are aware of that weakness and I think the plan all along was to play Graves and Days more later in the season or during tournament time. I think the coaches wanted to give their young starters more minutes during the season so that they would be ready for postseason play.

Whenever teams go zone against us and our offense becomes stagnant, we should just put Graves in and let him get a few 3s up. Gotta shoot teams out of their zone. And he can shoot.
