dude is just too athletic to be at NT. Don't see this happening.

he was the 2nd highest graded interior pass rusher in the SEC last year as graded by PFF. He's likely to stay there

Valentine starts at NT, Neal and Godchaux at DE

Gilmore rotates in at NT along with Alexander getting limited snaps as third guy in

LaCouture & Herron are primary rotating guys at DE with Clark, Lawrence, Roddy & Logan providing depth being those third/fourth guys guys at DE

It's exhausting that after all the discussion people on here still don't understand what type of defense Aranda runs. He likes athletic, explosive NG's not space
Eaters. You can't be too athletic to play NG in his defense.

exactly.

and i think for some reason people still think Godchaux is "small". He's damn near 300lbs

Aranda was recruiting some big dudes to play NT at Wisconsin (brought in 2 guys north of 330 his last year there). They just had to work with what they had there to start out. The coaches themselves have said using Godchaux is kind of a band aid fix if they have to, hence the huge push for Valentine (really no coincidence they are pushing so hard to get him back). Gilmore is that 2nd guy I believe because he doesnt have much of a motor and they just trust him to rotate in playing maybe 15-20ish snaps a game. In different situations I think Godchaux absolutely can play inside (3rd/longs, obvious passing downs, etc), but it's not particularly what they want for their every down NT.

Valentine gives them someone who can penetrate as well as handle a double team if need be. Godchaux can wreak a lot more havoc as a DE.

He likes to be versatile but he absolutely likes smaller faster DT's in the middle alot of the time.

I think that's the beauty of Aranda's D. He will move Godcheaux to DE, then to NT for speed over size. Just like Alexander will mostly play in the middle at NT, like I can see Rashard Lawrence playing DE and NT. He will rotate guys into position on the line and LB's to best defend the Offensive play they have setup...

If Valentine makes it this year, I'd be willing to bet he wouldn't be in good enough shape to see too many snaps
