Remember also, LSU season tickets are not near as expensive as some of of the other SEC schools.

Only if it's a big game. I've been able to get Hornets tickets faced at $200-300 for like $80 on there.
Hornets tickets!!
Here is the pecking order:
Saints>LSU>Hornets
I could sell a pair of my LSU v Alabama tix for what I paid for the entire season...(i won't though)
Saints fans got what they paid for 2-3 years of Saints tickets if they sold the NFC CHamp game tix on Stub Hub..
Blee dat...

R U kiddin? In the midst of no power, missing relatives, etc. after a hurricane swept through here the game was one of THE biggest concerns and the stadium was packed.
People will find a way to "afford" them.

You can see more open receivers after the snap in person
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, I'm waiting for the app which will let me click on JJ and then click the open receiver and click "pass."
haha me too!

At Home:
1) I can drink all the beverage of choice that I want for less than ½ the cost in the stadium.
2) I don’t have to listen to a bunch of SPOILED fans boo plays, coaches or players.
3) I don’t get nickel and dimed for everything from parking to leaving the game—at the end.
4) I don’t have to wait in long lines to get any of the overpriced food, drinks and stuff.
5) I get to rewind and see that PP had 2 feet in bounds
6) I can throw my shoe, TV remote, couch pillow etc. at the TV without getting in trouble.
7) I get to cry, get angry or just sit by myself in solitude when we do lose.
8) I get to scream and celebrate when we win
9) Due to reasons 6-8, I get to experience my neighbors come over to see if everything is OK and that I haven’t gone crazy and harmed the family or got electrocuted.
At the Game:
1) I get to experience the tailgating, tiger-baiting, pre-game march
2) I get to meet some very interesting, mostly friendly people and party with them.
3) I get to experience the electricity in the air before even entering Tiger Stadium.
4) I get to hear the loudest crown I have ever heard cheering for their team (until halftime)
5) My kids get to experience what I got to experience as a kid going to the game.
6) I get to yell, scream and cheer without my neighbors coming over.
7) I get to wait what seems like 2 days to get thru traffic.
The live Game experience is irreplaceable.
The Home theater experience is way cheaper.
Both are very enjoyable for me.
Either way

For pro sports yes ticket sales will fall in the next 10-20 years and beyond. Going to the game was a huge part of peoples lives back then when they were young. Young people did not have that, they grew up watching games on tv. College football wont be affected.

Huh? Is this in Bizzarro world? Ebay and Stubhub are where scalpers go to sell premium tickets for extra premium prices.
But without the required donation to the school that season tickets have. Thus, they are cheaper.

I'll give you two guesses as to why Tenn's season ticket sales were down. You should only need one.
Their performance on the field is only part of the problem. They had bad seasons in the past sometimes, too. The difference is that now it costs a whole lot more to keep tickets through those bad times and fewer people will do it, especially with the games themselves, or tickets to them, available through other channels.

HD TV will NEVER replace going to the game with friends and family, buying a program, good-natured tigerbaiting of opposing fans, the sound of Death Valley all around you, eating a Tiger Dog and washing it down with a bourbon and coke that you snuck into the game.
It'll never be as good, but as the cost of season tickets continues to soar out of control, it's reasonable to think more people will settle for the admittedly less enjoyable but immensely more affordable option.

Besides all that, with the exception of Alabama, Florida, and the occasional Auburn game, if you pay more than $20 to get a seat in Tiger Stadium, you're doing it wrong.
Yes. They're buying season tickets. Which was the subject of the thread. Cheaper tickets through other means contribute to lower season ticket sales.

With every game on television — the theory went — folks can stay home and watch on the tube.
Is the next generation of LSU fans so bovine and lazy that they would actually forego the excitement and atmosphere of Tiger Stadium just so that they could plant their obese, broad haunches on their beaten couches and watch f*cking television? I don't care if it's high definition or not. It's still just a tiny electronic simulation of real life. Christ. I hope LSU fans aren't such fat pussies.
(BTW, if someone has to relinquish their season tickets for economic reasons, that is an entirely different and understandable decision. But TV? Good lord.)

No, I would rather sit on my couch at home and watch it vs sitting next to some fatass who is taking up two seats who is drunk and yelling at the coaches and players all game. You know this type is in every section and they want to make sure EVERYONE knows how smart they are.
Not to mention, I don't feel like having to park halfway to Gonzales if I don't get there at 7:00am any more.
Give me a ticket to two games a year and I am happy. Friends or the online sales places make this very possible and affordable for me.

Why do you need season tickets now?
I can pay 250 for each big game and say screw you to the cream puffs if Im not a season ticket holder and come out way ahead.
If you are going to play shite teams 5 times a year then why would I want to see every game in person? I would rather take the money I save on those tickets and actually get GOOD seats for the big games. Lets not forget once you finally get up enough TAF points to get season tickets the seats you will get will SUCK!
BTW I have never seen a big game where I couldnt get a ticket for 75 dollars outside.

You can also see the game from a much better perspective on tv,
I actually prefer the wide angle perspective from my 40 yardline seats. No comparison to TV.
TV does not capture 1/10 of the electricty of being in the stadium.

Do you ever want to make noise in your den when the tigers are in a 3rd down defense situation.
Stand up, jump around, and scream at the top of your lungs.
Your dog is barking, hell all the dogs in the neighborhood are barking making noise along with you.
Three and out, dam it worked!
I know I'm sick,
When does football start?

Figured I'd throw in my two cents here, even though I know I'm in the minority.
Personally I see very little value in attending live sporting events. I don't really enjoy tailgating, mostly because I don't drink alcohol and I tend to be introverted. Furthermore, it's a very physically uncomfortable experience. The seats suck, the crowding sucks, the heat sucks, the traffic sucks, etc. Third, I find it harder to follow the game while in the stadium. Sometimes you don't know what is going on down on the field, what reason the flag was thrown, what is going on on a goal-line stand on the other side of the stadium, etc.
Watching football on TV is 10000 times better than watching it live. The HD picture is crystal clear. Even though I hate most announcers, sometimes they provide good information, and the on screen display always has good info. I also always have my laptop up and running while watching the game so I get to see instant stats and read comments of other fans all over the world. I also get to follow all the other games going on that day. I'm a fan of LSU but also of college football and I like to keep up with every game. Sometimes I actually watch 2 or 3 games at a time (multiple TV's and my laptop). And I get to do all this from the comfort of my own home, with a clean bathroom with no lines, cheap food, and a comfortable temperature.
Yea yea, call me lazy, or a bad fan. I don't care. Most of you guys probably wouldn't want me at the game because I'm not one of the "get loud" kind of fans anyway. Apparently, in Tiger Stadium, that makes you a bad fan.

and I just wanted to add, that my comments above go for pretty much all overpriced sporting events, not just LSU games.
I do enjoy going to LSU baseball games because last time I even had to pay for a ticket it was 8 bucks (but most of the time can get in for free). That is reasonable and makes sitting in the stands a lot more palatable.

TN has dropped because they have sucked for a protracted period. This is a buying opportunity for folks that have wanted seats. It was in similar situation in early 2000 I was able to buy seats at LSU.
