O is exactly who we thought he was, the worst coach in ole piss history, the one Syracuse wouldn’t interview.

3-4 with 2 edge is base for regular/rushing formations

in nickel, which is the majority of the time, you'll have 2 edge and 2 interior DL, so there is no magical confusion

coverage is the issue, not the line

Still disagree with you 100%, the advantage of the 3-4 is the QB does not know 100% who is the 4th rusher, that is the DC's trump card in that he as options of who to send at QB and then play a different coverage with other 3 LB's and in the formation with the Rams, you have the safety down at about 10 yards at well, could send Him and drop all 4 LB's to cover the TE's and H-backs.

In nickel, you might take out one of the LB's and replace with Safety or CB but still have the same advantage, the 3 LB's on the field, 1 will rush the other 2 will cover, more multiples.

We agree to disagree.

Does it really matter 4-3 or 3-4. Someone said earlier that the defense was built for a 3-4. So what then was the problem in 2020? Guys have had a lot of time to figure out scheme and assignments. They lack on the field leadership like a devin white calling D play adjustments.

Don't know what the obsession was with going back to a 4-3 when our roster wasn't built for it

Have you seen our LBers? Our roster is not built for a 3-4 either.

More proof is him living in the past. He doesn’t know how to be forward thinking in philosophy and game planning, so he just goes back to what has worked in the past for him. Very Les Miles of him

All true, 2020 LSU had the personnel to run 3-4 before they all started transferring in the spring. Even taking into account the adjustments to the crossing routes (might be personnel related as well), I think, just my opinion, harder to recruit to run a 4-3 these days, harder to find 8 guys for a 2 deep 4 man front that can play the run and pass rush equally well. But that is just me, I have always liked a 3-4 better than 4-3.
