“Actually folks that hate Simmons actually watch games. As opposed to jerks who didnt”
If you can’t prove that every fan who hates Ben Simmons watched every game and all the fans who support him didn’t watch games your entire argument is done.
BTW are you trying to set a record for using the word actually?

He was great at getting to the basket and getting rebounds.
So two of the most important things in basketball, cool.

But he was terrible at defending,
So terrible that he averaged two steals per game? And had a D-rating of 98.4?
quote:
had no shot outside of the paint,
Right, that's why he didn't try to shoot outside of the paint. He still averaged 19.2 points per game on 56% shooting. That is great efficiency for that kind of usage.

frequently disappeared when the game was on the line.
Oh, the true freshman drawing frequent double-teams didn't single-handedly take over every late game situation? He sometimes passed to an open player instead of missing a bad shot?

It's sad that I have to explain how he was mediocre. Just goes to show how few people actually watched basketball then.
Yeah, you know who really must not have watched any basketball? The Wooden Award voters who made him a finalist. The Naismith Award voters that made him a semifinalist. The USBWA, that named him the National freshman of the year and a finalist for the player of the year. The voters who named him a first team All-American. And don't forget the 76ers that made him the first pick of the NBA draft.

You will never see him talk about or rep LSU again the rest of his life.
He caught shite earlier this year for posting about LSU's tourney win right after his NBA team had lost a game.

They hate Simmons and the hate Naz simply because they were 1 and dones. We have some growing up to do as a basketball fan base.
Dumbest shite I’ve ever heard. Naz gave a shite...Simmons never did.

I guess you don’t realize your post makes no sense and only confirms mine.

Are you mentally deficient? LSU turned down bids because Simmons never went to class because he didn’t give a frick about this place. Naz busted his arse here. Got us to the sweet 16. He deserves way more credit than Simmons.

Quite the opposite and unlike you I don’t makeup ridiculous accusations and contradict my own claims.

hate Naz
I'm a basketball season ticket holder and I've never gotten the feeling that people hate Naz Reid.
I think the sentiment was that he shouldn't go yet but hate is a strong word for Naz.

I don’t think he is mediocre. His new contract says different.

I’m talking about here on this board and I can refer you to June 20th, Draft night. Scroll back and take a look at the Rant that night as well as the season, people absolutely shite on Naz. He was unfairly bashed all season long, you’ll even see the mention of him being a 1 and done as the basis for a lot of the attacks.

Naz was thought to be an NBA lottery talent when he got here
He never came close to living up to that hype, this why he got the negative vibes his way.
Simmons just was a quitter.

You're talking about Rantards. I was talking about season ticket holders who I came in contact with and had conversations with.
Big difference.

They did a piece on him on ESPN yesterday. Talked about his time at LSU. Two of the four involved in the conversation both stated that whenever they went to see him at practice he was never with the team. Usually off somewhere to the side or in another location working on his jumpshot. Rarely participated in team drills. He may have worn the purple and gold jersey for a season but he definitely did not act like it meant anything to him.

Putting on a uniform does not make you a Tiger, it merely means you played ball. Simmons was here to showcase his talents, good for him, he got what he was after. I don't condemn him for it, but face the fact.
He never bought into being a Tiger, it doesn't make him less of a baller, or even less of a person, he's just not a Tiger.

"Hate" is a bit strong don't you think? I have totally different feelings towards Simmons and Reid's time at LSU. I certainly don't "hate" either. Simmons is just a footnote in Tiger basketball history to me.
I don't think one and done is crap because of the players. It's crap because it's a crap rule. It absolutely serves no purpose. There are plenty of options for kids who don't want to attend college and take their talents directly to the pros.

KISS Method
Naz loved LSU
Ben used LSU as a bridge
Both Tigers, but a helluva more love and respect for Naz

No. He was never a Tiger in his heart. He was serving mandatory time, and it showed in his spiritless attitude. I don’t blame him. If I had to go to Australia and play one year for the Timbuktu Wolfcats for free before making big money I might be the same.

Has he ever given a dime back to the university.....NO SIR
This has to be a joke, right? I’m not a fan of him, but it’s LSU that should be giving dimes back to Simmons. LSU paid Simmons zero and made a bunch of money because he was laboring here.
