12-team playoffs since 1998

Almost every year or so has 9-3 team.

9-3 is not making the playoff.

Thats why the USC loss was so devastating

Over the 23 years 1998-2021, 29 3-loss or more (a 4-loss team made it!) made the 12-team playoffs. So odds are in favor of a 3-loss team making the playoffs each year.

ehhhh....it depends....probably not....but we beat OM, and they lose to Ga and finish 10-2....and we finish 9-3 with a win over them, we would get the nod with a win over them, given their disgusting ooc schedule.

Depends on everyone else. Go look at EOY rankings for 2014. Several 3 loss teams would have been in.

For a realistic chance, LSU has to win 2 out of these three games, OU, Bama, Ole Miss, which is possible. The problem with three loses is that we just lost to USC. The big ten is expected to be on par or close with the number of teams the SEC will get in, so say a 4th place USC team is sitting at 9-3, we are out cause we didn’t handle buisness against them in non conference.. that’s why I think our only chance is to win 2 out of theee against Bama, OU, or ole miss, so pick the two we have a shot at
