If she's the matron of honor, you won't see her anyway. She'll be busy before, during, and after the ceremony. I say go to the game. She can find cute guys to dance with her at the reception, which is all you're really needed for. They'll probably think they can have sex with her though.

She's already going to hold this against you even IF you go to the wedding.
"I had to beg you just to go to the wedding."
This all has to do with what her friends will think of HER.
Give her a short course on security.
Never understood why any wife OR husband
would want to deprive their partner of something that would make them happy, barring infidelity.

Mrs. Fury's annoyed that I'm not going to her cousin's wedding....but frick that. It's LSU/Bama, what would else would I be doing that day? I'd never think of depriving her of something she would enjoy that much. Her cousin's an idiot for having the wedding that day anyway, and she's marrying some Florida fan dickhead that hates LSU.

Didn't read one post besides OP.

The only answer is to kill wife, attend game, and do blow with the players after a big win.

you'd best set the tone now man. capitulating now will only weaken your position and require further surrenders. stick to your guns. in the future, there will be many other "social events" that she will expect you to go to; go to them if they don't conflict with an important game. if they so, tell her "tough shite". she will get the picture and understand she must respect your wishes.

My wife doesn’t understand why I’m not selling my LSU/Alabama tickets and going with her to her best friend’s wedding. She will not speak to me because of this. We have been married 6 months. What do I do? Not going to the game is not an option.

My wife is going to a wedding the night of the Bama game. I wonder if these are the same assholes wedding you are dealing with. Your wife's best friend seems to be messing with multiple marriages with the timing of her wedding. It's her fault in my opinion.

All I know is this, if you give in on this one, you'll be screwed for the rest of your marriage. I don't know about you, but football is the only thing I really get into and draw the line. She knew it going in, and knew it wasn't going to change. That's my one thing and I'm keeping it!

I told my wife, Hell No! I also told her something is seriously wrong with those people and that marriage is doomed from the beginning. I've been married a long time, so mine already knew my answer before she asked.

I hope everybody is joking (only read part of first page).

You should sell that ticket, go to the wedding, and DVR the game.

It's a fricking game, dude. And you aren't even playing.

After reading through the thread, i have to comment further.

She is the matron of honor in her best friend's wedding and you've known about this for a long time.

Dude, you are fricked!

There is nothing more boring and egotistical and horrifying than a wedding. No one who likes their friends would ever ask them to go to one.

Have fun.

first of all, you are married, so the damage is already done.

go to the game to wrest what little satisfaction you can in your life, because the remainder will largely be devoid of it as your wife will dictate every other detail of your existence.

I'll go with your wife to the wedding. I will only require a handjob from her before I drop her off.

Deal?

One thing to remember. In about 15-20 years there will be a knock down argument over something, kids, money, in laws, etc. Just when you think you have the upper hand, she will play the LSU game you attended instead of the wedding card. It will happen.,

My husband does this to me occassionally b/c I missed his dad's birthday to STAY HOME and watch the LSU-Fla game. I didn't care that he bitched then and I still don't care when he does it now.

Little dude should go to the game and his wife should be understanding. He can make it up to her in another way.
