Absolutely, look I get it - old guys like me are used to the way things were and it's just different now.
Ole Miss has the resources and big money folks as much as LSU and their grass roots fundraising is ahead of LSU's. They spent more money on the portal than any team in the country in 2024 and had maybe the best roster in Ole Miss history and arguably - you can make a case for Texas - the most talented roster in the SEC last year. They certainly fielded a more talented roster than we did last year.
There is not built in advantage to him coming here over Ole Miss anymore, there just isn't - you are 100% correct.

I hope he comes for a lot of reasons but the biggest would be, because it will give renewed hatred to the rivalry.

I heard Ole Miss is setting up a mortgage for their campus and endowment to keep Kiffen. Kiffen and Sexton are going to rape ole miss and anyone that really wants Kiffen. Hope LSU stays out of that mess.

Kiffin already has the maximum extension allowed by MS law. His current contract automatically extends 1 year when he wins the 7 game of the season. All OM can do is offer more money/incentives/perks. His current contract is through 12/31/31.

Their Foundation can give an additional contract to get around the 4 years allowed by the state of MS. They are doing that already. Hard to believe Lane will leave with his son in high school and playing football. Knox transferred to Oxford because he had become friends with so many there. If you listen or read anything about Kiffin he really talks a lot about his relationship with his dad. He isn't going to leave Knox and miss out on him playing the next 2 years. Ole Miss can match any offer from any school. 2 years from now he will be way more likely to leave. Lane loves all this drama and it will go on until the season is over for Ole Miss.

I hate Ole Miss plenty now, largely because of him. That preppy, entitled wise as Tweet machine that has not won anything of substance in his 20 years as a head coach at 5 different stops.....and still gets all the shine he does....just really don't like him.
