I'm not sure I've seen in any previous targeting call where the person hit was ushered off the field by the Refs and made to sit out a play.

Yes, it made the play seem more egregious than it was.

It was such a devastating blow to the head by the "targeting" they wanted him to get checked out by the medical staff.

The truth? To make the blatant bad call appear more "real".

Even Fitz knew his head was never touched.

I know. That was weird. It’s like the refs did that on purpose to make it appear their fake call was legit.

The ref asked Fitz to leave the field so it will justify his bad call. Fitz was surprised when he was asked to get off the field, even though he said he was OK.

So refs could defend that bad call. No helmet to helmet ,Fitz gave that away

I mean unless when asked what his name was he said "I'm Batman!!" I don't see where this fits in the concussion protocol. The Ref can remove a player from the field if he shows symptoms but if that was the case why wouldn't the Refs make sure the MSU trainers did the test because he was right back on the field after one play. Hell, he was watching that play...NOT going through the concussion testing.

My Google skills might be slow this morning but nothing so far is coming up where "targeting" automatically initiates the players involved go through concussion testing. The Refs didn't seem to react to White and both players are just as vulnerable to head injuries in a targeting call.

Agree...Fitz didnt even want to leave..I understand most dont feel like they need to, PRIDE takes over but really a push in the chest and he left for ONE PLAY?...didnt seem like much concussion protocol to me when he got to the sidelines..what did they do when he got to the sidelines, ask him if he was ok and he went right back in?...WOW...

They trainer asked him how many fingers he was holding up as he ran off the field.
