He made a gut decision. He loves those. If it works, he looks smart. If it doesn't, people question why he didn't go with the obvious, higher percentage play. When you need 1 run to win, it's a rare situation where bunting is statistically the best choice. 1st and 2nd. No outs. It wasn't early in the season either. And he did it two weekends in a row (both SEC) although with two separate players batting.

We can go back and forth about good vs bad calls. I'm trying to point out ones that were obviously bad and not as subjective or based on hindsight. Not to say anyone is smarter or better but to say he (like all coaches) makes mistakes. I obviously don't just disagree with those. There are subjective things too. I didn't like him yelling at the team after the sac state game. Stuff like that you can't say whether it's good or bad, works or not. But I don't see why it's wrong or bad to disagree with anything. To circle this back to the 1977's post, he posted an opinion. Was wrong. Who cares? It had basis.
