This is a serious question. Would fans be happier if we won big in 3 of the 4 remaining SEC games, but lost a close 1 to Bama. Or win all 4 games by close margins, on our way a an undefeated season.

On 3 different occasions I've heard people say " Les Miles will never be an SEC coach because he doesn't win by large margins. What the hell does that mean. Should I assume winning big, but not winning the west is better than winning it all by the slimmest of margins. If anyone can explain why winning is not enough, please do.

Did you ever play sports?

When you played the local chump school, were you happy if you just eeked out a win?

BTW, My answer is that you can't be happy about your performance if you are playing below your standards. Also, leaving a game vulnerable to a bad call by a referee (what if the call on the field was a forward pass?) or a single botched play when it shouldn't be is insane.

Of course if you ever played competitive sports you would already know this.

I disagree, it's a shitty example, starters are starters, and we were missing 4 to 5 of ours, plain and simple.

What someone that has played competitive athletics knows is that there is no perfectplay, no perfect game. One who has played competitive athletics knows that it is impossibe to mentally and physically play at optimun levels every play of every game. Any one who has played competitive athletics knows that the efforts of the other players often dictates the level of one's own play. Anyone who has played competitive athletics also knows that when facing a supposedly inferior opponent, it is all too easy to "take a few plays" off. Anyone who has played competitive athletics realizes that it is a human game not a video recreation.

The competitive athlete knows this. The titty-baby fans don't. They think that the athletes on the field are like little robots whose purpose is to do what they, the fans want.

MCC you don't have a chance if we compare the accoplishments we have in sports and that's a fact. Winning big is the same as dunking in a basketball game, it still counts as two points. The manner in how it was done is what makes you pussy moist.

I don't care if we win or lose.

If we are disciplined, executing, look prepared and playing up to potential then you can't complain about much.

So if LSU wins a gritty 15-14 game today, you will be happy and all smiles?

The problem isn't that the players are taking plays off. If they were actually doing that I would expect the coach to pull them.

You can hear what the players say after the games don't you? Do you think they are thrilled when they play a sub-par game but score the W. They love getting the W, but you should clearly see that simply winning is just not enough sometimes.

If you want the team to play 'down' against weaker teams and not up to it's potential then that's what you'll get.
I'm pretty sure beating Vandy by 24 and MSU by 22 were their worst 2 losses of the season. UNC and WVU were ranked teams with loads of talent on both sides of the ball that are expected to challenge for their conference titles. Maybe you need to re-think what you consider a "weak" team.

It's kinda like sex...do you want the girl to just lay there or do you want her best, some of you are just satisfied with them just laying there........a score is not just a score.

How about at least 3/4ths of the game then? Is that doable? Waiting until the last play or last drive to get a win is playing with fire and not a sustainable way to run a program.

If we win every game from here on to forever then great! But when I have complained about games being close "TENN???"! It is because we haven't played are hardest opponents at that time and it gives you an idea how we are going to play against an harder opponent! Last year for example LA TECH!

Play enough games and eventually, you lose no matter how good you are.

After the season is over and LSU is 10-2, 11-1 or even 12-0 the score of any of these games are not going to matter to the fans. Tell me what was the final score of the LSU/USCe last year? Not many will remember because LSU won the game. Tell me the final score of every game of the 2007 season without looking it up. You can not and outside of a very few maybe 1 or 2 people can not do it and the reason is because it makes no difference, because why? LSU was the BCS NC of College footbal. That is what counts over any score of a ball game. LSU was 11-2

Explain to me why after LSU won the game last week with Floridaeveryone was jumping up and down over that game and was saying how glad they where that Miles is the Coach of LSU. When just 2 weeks ago after the game with Tennessee everyone was calling for Miles to be fired after that game. Now all is well and looking forward to the Auburn game. Just all the other teams in the BCS race that has not lost the oppertunity to win it all is still there and all that counts is the fact that they are winning and as long as they do nothing else matters.

Tiger n ATL, besides winning by a big margin as opposed to a slim one, what does it change. Only one thing it makes you feel better. Wow! Football games are suppose to be all about you. Special alert you are just a nobody, just like the rest of us.

Hey cents, I laugh repeatedly at the yahoo's on here that think LSU owes them something. Let me repeat something that Les Miles said and I quote " I don't give a rats arse what they think". Yes this means you to Tiger n ATL.

My concern about winning is simple. I am happy when they have a fighting chance to win the sec west. Then and only then to I worry about the SEC championship. The NC is nice to think about but some might say that the only true NC in this day and age is the winner of the SEC.
