I do not hate Coach Miles and I indeed do understand why people support him.
What I don't understand is the fanatical, completely emotionally involved Miles Leibstandarte/Bodyguard's gang rapes of people who say, with some justification, that Miles is idiotic at times.
It's this fanatical "I will fight you" attitude of the Miles Sunshine Pumpers.
Just admit that you know that your coach has his limitations, but, you believe that his positives outweigh his negatives.

I like to see LSU win every game in every sport, but, I would certainly not consider myself to be fanatical in that support, thus, not a member of the fanbase.

I am a "pumper" but still pretty critical at times. The reason I want to keep Miles is that he wins 8 in his absolute worst years. I don't think there is some instant guarantee that says if you get rid of him you will be immediately in the playoffs. The idea of 5 or 6 win seasons or worse is nauseating. In the sec west that is a guarantee if Alleva gets the hire wrong. I'm all in on Miles for at least two more seasons with the guys he has coming back.

He's shown a propensity to do dumb things......over and over and over again. Sure other coaches make mistakes...but they learn from them and get smarter. Miles doesn't....he continues to flounder around on the sidelines eating grass and pondering the meaning of life I guess. He's stubborn to a fault. That's not going to change....ever.
Just like a sociopath can't grow a conscious......Miles isn't going to magically change his ways.
I hate Saban with a passion and that stupid frick pussy lane Kiffin as well, but they adjusted their offense to fit the strength/skills of their players and look what they've done and where they are headed. Could have been our plight.....even with the freshmen.

BECAUSE having our fan base attack the coach that has just given us our best decade ever, AND WILL BE THE COACH FOR, AT LEAST,THE NEXT 5 YEARS MAKES OUR FAN BASE LOOK IGNORANT. Lsu has 11 10 wins seasons in over 45 years, MILES HAS 7 OF THEM.miles is the only lsu coach EVER to beat Baman florida, and Auburn in the same season.this notion that lsu wins and recruits itself is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. Lsu had slid into mediocrity from 1970-2000. You only need to look at USC, TEXAS, FLORIDA, and MICHIGAN to see that programs dont win or recruit on their own.

Great coaches have limitations on aspects of their personal lives. They often spend too little time as husbands and fathers because of their devotion to their profession. So, in this sense, yes, my observation might apply to every coach.

Yes, I understand that these are some of the good reason why many LSU fans are fanatical Miles supporters.
There are other good reasons, too, that are related to his personal life. He seems to be able to balance coaching and home life as good as any coach ever. He's probably the best coach we've ever seen in that regard.
