So we start this upcoming season with the same mindset

most threads I read where someone discusses the reality of our program people constantly bash them and tell them to support Bama.

Either you are all-in with Les Miles or YOU HATE LSU.

when you are putting underclassmen in the NFL at the rate we are.

The stubbornness of Les has really caused the program to become stagnant.

There isn't a single LSU fan in here who likes Miles more than LSU. People who claim that there are such people are morons.

Because some are just plain in love with CLM and can't see any thing beyond the positives which we admit are abundant in recruiting, overall record, etc., however, those of us that see reality as does the nationwide football world and especially us season ticket payers that put up the $ thus demand the maximum out of the highest paid staff in CFB especially QB and O development. If we express this we are shitty fans even though some of us have been fans since the 50's and been through every high and low and season ticket holders for 20+ years. It is incredible to me that someone would question another fans allegiance especially if they are not even season ticket buyers!

Every LSU fan want to do this. Some just understand that it's not going to happen every year despite what's happening in that other program to the east. Until LSU is duplicating the success of Bama, the bitching will continue
So we should strive for less?
Settle for less?
Be "realistic" and realize we can no longer expect better than 4-4 in the SEC and a trip to the Music City Bowl?

Likewise, there are some on this board that will always hate Miles, even if he were win multiple National Championships. Extremists on both ends of the spectrum.

yet coaching seems to be keeping us down.

What's wrong with wanting to compete for championships?
What's wrong with three West championships, two SEC champions, two BCSCG appearances, and a NC?
The negative in all this is the clowns who are too fricking stupid to see what we have at LSU is better than 99% of the other BCS schools.

Miles is an excellent recruiter, media personality, fund raiser and executive of the LSU Program. We graduate players top in the SEC(minus Vandy) and generally have no major discipline issues(We never compete for the infamous Fulmer Cup) and have had no major NCAA infractions, we had a minor issue with a scout service and took care of it. We hire and pay top coordinators and have one of the few financially elite programs. All of these are testaments to Les Miles who is a 1st rate human being.
Now having said that, the flip side is Miles makes very poor personnel decisions sometimes just to spite himself. The Beckwith-Welter issue, our current QB issue, the JJ/JLee debacles, his constant changing RBs at times for no reason, his issues with Terrance Toliver when he was our best WR, it goes on and on and for no explainable reason.
Why he recruits DT QBs to run a pro style offense? Why he recruits pass catching TEs when he uses them primarily to block? He's too loyal to a fault with sub par coaches like Stud and BDP. His gameday coaching is lacking and his teams never appeared prepared. His gameplans appear simple and do not take advantage of obvious mismatches or opportunities. Plain and simple Miles is not an Xs and Os coach, his schtick has become stale and he will average a couple of losses a year from here on out. It will take some stars align type situations to just win the SEC.

Because finishing in the top.15 out of 126 is somehow mediocre now to most of the armchair coaches that never made it passed junior varsity

If our kicker kicks the ball into the end zone instead of out of bounds...LSU wins the Alabama game. Would the discussion be different?

There seems to be far few between of these however, and more middle of the road like myself who like CLM but expect better then mediocrity or average play (Music City Bowl)and are called shitty fans for it and blamed for it by some. I admit a W and good showing over ND would bring my usual optimism for next season!

Who says we can no longer expect better than 4-4 in the SEC? Realistic to me says we will be competing for the SEC West again next year and with that a shot at the playoff.

How long have you been a Season ticket buyer?

Absolutely not. Too many on this board have the NC or bust mentality.
