As for overall OL construction, settle the frick down. There were only a couple of top OL recruits in the portal and we got the highest rated one. Great OLs are NOT built using the portal. Supplemented, but not built. There are never going to be top OL available across every position every season. Same for the DL.
This is one area where building through recruiting and retaining through NIL is still essential. We have some good looking younger players who are already pushing up the depth chart. We have to do what we can this year, plug for one more and then we should get to some level of stability.

Yep.
This is different than last year.
We can run the ball and while in the first half pass pro kinda sucked there were still plays to be made.
The second half overall was very good.

Exactly there is certainly a lot of room
For improvement but if people can’t see this is a pretty solid run game already in year 1 then they are just choosing to be negative. We have to keep in mind we are 3 games in. You can’t build a program in 3 weeks. Anybody expecting a natty this year is delusional. We have a damn good team for year 1. It’s going to be a fun year. Can’t wait to see what Lane builds here.

Talent is lacking. When Kelly got the job I was hoping to see some corn fed lineman come to LSU; that did not happen. In addition, we had an incompetent line coach in Brad Davis. Five stars such as Solomon Thomas have not panned out. Unless I am mistaken, we only took two high school lineman in the last recruiting class and only have two committed so far this year; that doesn't cut it.

We start 3 from the previous team which were gosh awful; there weren’t many available in the portal to get.

Because our QB and WRs have not made our opponents fear the pass. Plain and simple. Defenses are stacking the box and teeing off on running situations. Statistically we run the ball 2 out of 3 plays and we are not punishing them with the pass.
