I don't know if it was a pansy scheme as much as it was just flat out a bad idea from the get go (confusing and the wrong players asked to be in a certain spot during plays covering the wrong person).
To answer the original question, I think this season is special because like others have said, all we've gotten since the Peach Bowl is Ole Miss, Bama, Tennessee, and Florida shoved down our throats and LSU (after just 1 lackluster season mind you) is nothing more than an afterthought. I think the national "experts" have preconceived notions that LSU is going to look the same this year. And, sadly enough, some LSU fans feel the same way. The anticipation is killing me!
Is it just me or has the football season been 15 days away for the last 4 weeks?

This is a big year for Miles.
Since Kentucky game of 07, the team has been suspect.
Miles owes a lot to Pitt.

yea, it looked like Vince. he is a very nice guy. my son went to hi school with his dgt. in franklin, tn. and vince was just a "regular guy". funny story; his brick mailbox was ran into accidentally and knocked over one day. by the next day, there wasn't one brick left. all of the women in the neighborhood had them a souvenier! a brick from vince gill's mailbox. as a fan, ya gotta check out vince and amy grants christmas special at the opery. it's as good as it gets. nashville is most definately music city!

Didn't UF go 8-5 or 9-4 the year before last. Alot can change in a year especially with changing of sucky LSU defensive coordinators (Malveto, Tepor etc..)

Like I said this is a big year for Miles.
And more importantly for LSU.
This year sets the tone for the next two or three.
With a few exceptions, no matter the school or the coach:
It's what have you done for me lately.
If we go 1-3 against Florida, Bama, Georgia and Ole Miss there will be rumblings of discontent heading into next year.
If we go 2-2, and our only losses are Florida and Georgia, this will be a special year.

Just for the record, this has been said almost every year by some fans since Miles has been here. Put it this way unless Miles has a TERRIBLY LOSING SEASON, he will NOT be close to losing his job

This is the year that Miles is supposed to prove himself with a team full of his recruits. He got a bye last year with the Perrilloux and Peleni fallout. If he does not win a BCS bowl, people will start to speculate.
Why Miles has to prove that he can win with his own talent, but Saban can win with Shula's recruits and have it not be a topic of discussion, I don't know. But it is what it is.
